other than ohio state's preseason ranking, name on the jersey, etc. what makes florida in 2008 over utah so much different than auburn over ohio state in 2013?

why does everyone act like it would be unprecedented for a 1 loss SEC champion to go ahead of an undefeated conference champion?

it happened in 2008 when urban meyer's 1 loss florida (lost to unranked ole miss) went in over utah.

"but utah isn't from an AQ conference blah blah blah"

who cares? they had more quality wins than ohio state did this year (after bowl season, they had 2 wins over the top 10 and 4 over ranked teams).
