Yea, but again, maybe Richie and the other o-line talked like that to each, Martin tolerated it because he wanted to fit in. They called him 'Big Weirdo' obviously that isn't just by accident. So Pouncey and Incognito are throwing low IQ insults around, Martin tolerates them, because fitting is vitally important in the locker room, maybe he even tries to make friends with Richie, hoping that he won't have to be the butt of jokes, but it annoys him he has to put up with such low-lifes. Then at some point he gets so fed up, he just snaps.

Some people bottle their anger up inside, and hope the situation that makes them angry will pass by, or they'll just tolerate it until they can get out.

But is that bullying, if you never let others know that you dont like it... If i start calling you names out of jest, and we are laughing about it , but deep down you hate it... and then say if he calls me that one more time i am going to snap, how can you not expect me to call you that again?? Then when you snap you make a stink about it and call me a bully... I thought we were joking the whole time...

The moral is- if you dont like what i call you or my actions, let me know so i have the opportunity to change my ways... it is irrelevant what i call you or if i should have been calling you that in the first place...

I love the whole " Lets take the word of a scumbag versus a Stanford Grad approach". In the end Martin is better off after football for Incognito which may be soon he will be selling cars or flipping burgers. Have fun with that Richie.

I have to agree with spiller.....If you play along, laughing and joking yourself...and never address the situation, conveying your displeasure for it. Who can you blame but yourself?

It seems, that it is not just HIS word....but the whole team's word??? No?

Sure, that's a valid point. And we really don't know if Martin said something.

But that's why you don't introduce comments and a culture like that into the workplace/lockerroom, and why a obviously bad person like Incognito shouldn't be a team leader.

Considering Richie's reaction to all of this, I'm guessing it wouldn't have made a difference. He probably would have just gone on one of his "joking" tirades about s**ting in people's mouths or something.

When idiots joke around they will say idiotic things... we cant punish him for what he says, if it is all out of jest and he doesnt know that it is not funny...

Apparently, his Stanford education didn't teach him much....he defused this situation with the mental fortitude of a 7 year old.

No. I at this point I am not taking the word of any players, because they know how pourus that line is with both out, they will say what they have to say to get the team back together. So do I think a lot of them are lying, Yep! Either way there is no excuse for the things said.

I think you can, if nobody reigned him in, sure there is blame to go around, but creating a toxic environment because you are too stupid to behave like an adult isn't an excuse.

So lets see he has a coach that allows it, a GM that suppsedly tell Incognito to punch him in the mouth, he is the new kid on the block, so where was he suppose to turn? To the members of SportsHoopla? How's that going?

There are plenty of excuses...some have already been mentioned. Is it right? Probably not, but we don't know the context, and there dozens of ways that shit like that can be said, and not be literal.

Question: we know there is a huge african american population in professional sports... if they joke to eachother using the language we know them to use, and then there is the few white guys that are in the same grouping, how are the white people supposed to be part of the gang if they are not allowed to speak like the others...

I dont know any other workplace where the majority are black males from the ages of 23-35... I believe black culture is dominant in football...

Its different for the QB since he is the leader, but a lineman or WR or defensive back, how do they mesh with their team if they are not allowed to at least join in with the gang speach??

Sure you stick with that. You choosing to be intenionally obtuse or ignorant holds no water.

I really don't know the answer to that, other than just act however you would normally act. The bonding shouldn't be over the words white folk aren't supposed to say.

It sounds as if they were pretty good friends....do you think its a possibility, that it was a form of ribbing they partook in?

Either way, I don't condone it, but I don't condone acting like a big, wet flapping vagina, either. And I believe, that if FEAR were truly part of it, he would have made greater efforts to insure that it stopped.

So they were good friends joking around using racial slurs and what not, but then Martin just snaps and leaves the team because he says Incognito was bullying him. How do you reconcile those two statements?

To demonstrate my apology to Incognito, I just called up one of my good friends and called him a half ****er and then threatened to kill him and slap his mother after I urinated in his mouth.

Because thats what good friends do.

My biggest point, is that I think there is a much bigger picture than what is currently being conveyed, and I think Martin is withholding most of that bigger picture.

Something just doesn't add up for me.

I think he loves him. That's my gut.
