I could see him going as a WR.

OMG! OD... Bro he is a qb. An NFL QB. If you think someone is going to draft Johnny as a QB you are absolutely inSANE brother. My lord man.

This isnt Eric Crouch.

If I was assembling a college team id rather have Crouch as my QB than Manziel.

Who was that other amazing college QB that played at Houston under Sumlin? Where is he now?

Case Keenum? Undrafted and with the Texans now.

Yeah him, also Colt Brennan. I'd figure Keenum to be a better outlook QB for the NFL than Manziel. Just because Keenum was your traditional passer, Manziel is a running option QB.

Right, which is why I can't see Colin Kaepernick doing anything in the league...

I don't really hate Manziel, I think he is just another amazing athlete that is going to flush his future down the drain because he cant handle his personal problems and lets his ego and partying age get the best of him.

Sorry, but if I were manziel and see the amazing talent God had blessed me with, I wouldn't be getting shit faced drunk to the point of unconsciousness at a QB camp that my fellow coaches couldn't wake me up.

OD,

So now you are making claims that Manziel is getting shit faced every night, a coke head, and has mental issues. Based on what? Last summer he was arrested for being in an altercation and having fake IDs. Even if the reason he missed the Manning camp was because he was hung over, I don't see it as proof that he is an out of control alcoholic. Have you ever had too many the night before and were late for work or called in sick? At worst, that's what this is. It's not a DUI, violent crime, assualt, hell - its not even a crime. It's not being covered up like failed drug test, or what Aaron Hernandez got away with at Florida. It's not even during the season. If he was missing team meetings or practices, this would be a different story, but it's not.

I thought that all the off the field stuff he did after the Heisman could effect him in the bowl game and was a little worried. What did he do? Just had his best game of the season. Until there is some evidence that this is effecting his performance on the field it is not a big deal to me. Am I happy about it? No, but I am a fan of what he does on the field to help A&M win. Not a fan of what he does off the field.

I don't think this kid even gets drafted. Maybe as a WR? but I think he is still too small. The only team I see drafting him is the Jets, so to get themselves into the headlines.

Manziel might be a great little college QB and if he stays alcohol free, could have a great long career at Texas AM, but I don't see him having much of a football future.

RG3 - 6'2" 220#
Drew Brees - 6'0" 210#
Michael Vick - 6'0" 215#
Russell Wilson - 5'11" 206#
Andy Dalton - 6'2" 220#
Johnny Manziel - 6'1" 210#

Weak argument is weak.

Isn't more of a character concern now? Watch him pull a Ryan Leaf.

He's 6'2", 205 lbs. That's slightly below average for an NFL quarterback but hardly "too small".

"Alcohol free"... uhh, why? Unless he drinks himself out of shape, which is unlikely given how much these guys work out, the guy will be 21 by draft day.

He's not 6'2, nowhere near it. I actually met the kid and shook his hand at a Longhorn Foundation event back in March (I have no idea why he was there). I'm a legit 6'2 and he was about an inch and a half shorter than I was. I'm thinking he's actually 5'11 or barely 6'.

As is this logic. 32 teams and 5 starters that size. Almost 85% are larger. Only 1 has had continued success through out his career.

THIS ^^^^^^^^ It's stupid when people will list these short guys when saying a certain QB is too small to start in the NFL. The odds are greatly against shorter QB's. Plus, I seriously doubt RGIII lasts more than 4 years in the NFL.....

So the odds are against him, but it has happened and we are talking about one person. We aren't talking about the odds 32 QBs in the 6'-6'2" range are all drafted next year.

So size of QB is a metric considered, but no one is saying that every QB is his size. Just showing that you can be that size and be drafted, which is the discussion here based on what the OP said.

He's going to get drafted. Why this is a discussion I have no clue. Someone will take the chance, just like they did with Tebow. If you win a heisman, you are going to get drafted.

If there should be discussion, it should revolve around how bad he will do with the Raiders. :yahoo:

Pt is simple. HE was calling someone out for failed logic. Then he in turn uses poor logic. I am simply pting out that you are all dumb asses.

Oh he'll get drafted, no doubt. I just have an eerie feeling Jerry Jones will draft him just to sell tickets and then Romo goes down and we're fucked.....

And that is just fine. A good choice either way. But you have taken this thread from Johnny doesnt get drafted, to he wont be good when he gets drafted, too he will be drafted as a WR, too you take Crouch over Manziel as a college qb...

Point is Johnny gets drafted in the NFL as a QB in first two rounds. Established.... barring injury.
