Fall camp opens this Friday August 2nd.

That means back to fresh Husker news on the daily.

I expect Frost will have them practicing hard like the old days when players said they looked forward to game day because it was easier than practice.

Let's hope for no major injuries.

Saw AM at the Tiburon driving range last week. Wanted to ask him what the hell he was doing and why he wasn't in Lincoln watching game film!?

I heard the AM is now 6'8'' a lean 280 and can really put a spiral on that pig skin.

I agree. I have mentioned Center many times this year as my main area of concern.

Cam Jurgens did not look good in the Spring Game, IMHO. Now, he is injured anyway,

Nebraska does have three that can play the position and have actually played it, so maybe it is not as bad as we think.

The rest of the O line I am not too worried about. But the O line is not going to take Nebraska to the CFP.

Running Back - Is Dedrick Mills the answer? Is Rahmir Johnson the answer? No one in the Spring Game did anything to tell me they were the man, the job is wide open if you ask me.

Two linebackers not named Mohammed Barry and Jojo Domann, Mohammed and Jojo are very good, but what about the other two positions?

Center is the biggest concern for me on offense without a doubt, considering we don't have one right now, even before Jurgens foot 3x re-injury. We brought in a Juco Center that is mysteriously no where in the mix. It seems like we haven't had a true Center for years now. The Oline will go as far as whoever our Center will be can take them. Building the OL/DL sustainable depth is a few years away still.

Defense is OLB, same a last year...where I only see 1 starter. A few other positions like NG where we're one injury away from getting into a bad place depth wise. If Green the JC DT doesn't make it to camp our depth at DT is already dicey now for next year.

It would be ideal to have a great Center, but I'm not much worried about it. There is a roster of 150 where near half are walk-on's. More than one of the OL walk-on's will see opportunity there. It's not a skill position, but one that someone simply needs to know the playbook, have some beef, and be familiar with QB cadence. He doesn't pull so simply knowing his assignment when other O-linmen do will suffice. I'd be concerned if Nebraska had some All-American nose tackles on their schedule, but they don't.

OLB is my biggest concern. That is a skill position. Someone who can learn their assignment, has a good eye for the ball, and can run a quick 40 is what needs to come out of fall camp.

I think Hixson has been doing some work snapping the ball. Not sure about Forbes. I think he's probably gonna challenge for the other guard spot.
