But I watched a bit of the Nats game during the rain delay and saw Jonny Venters strikeout the side and look dominant doing it.

I'd be fine with using McCann as the everyday catcher, bringing up Alex Jackson as the good defensive backup and DFAing Flowers. Passed ball king and terrible ABs lately.
