Its gotten to the point where if Flowers doesnt walk he doesnt get on base

Nice inning there.

But I'm not thrilled about the idea of Freddie stealing bases. That was an awkward slide, and I was worried he hurt his leg or ankle. Luckily it's all good.

And props to Duvall too for taking a walk. He wasn't doing that much in Cincinnati.

It was unrealistic to expect a repeat of last year's performance, but I definitely didn't see this big of a drop off. Suzuki isn't as good as he was last year either, but he's still been good, especially for a catcher.

Id expect my catcher to at least hit .250

If Flowers were used in a true backup role, his numbers would be fine.

And really and truly, he hasn't been useless at the plate because he does walk a lot. His OBP is ridiculously high for a guy hitting around .230.

Folty really settled down after the first inning.

He went from 0-2 to 3-2 to Vargas, but other than that, no complaints.

With the way Camargo has played, I'm fine with him being the everyday third baseman for the future. I'd be fine with trading Austin Riley in the offseason if it helped us get a true ace.
