Hope McCarthy isn't hurt too bad.

But we bullshitted our way to a win today.

Offense didn't do shit outside of the two solo homers in regulation and pissed away many chances to add on. We struck out 16 times in this game, and had two blown saves, and came up with the win.

I'll gladly take the win, but that was a lot harder than it needed to be.

And it's like Jim Johnson was never traded.

Vizcaino as a set up man is pretty good. He's shaky at best as a closer. I was listening, not watching, but he came unraveled after the tying homer. Threw a pick off attempt away, and then the next pitch was a wild pitch, so the potential winning run for the Nats was at third. Gotta have nerves of steel to be a closer.

You never can tell if they can handle it until they're in the closer's role, but Minter has the stuff of a closer.

I think going forward our best backend is Viz in the 8th and Minter closing. Minter fucking struck out the side against their 1,2,3 hitters today. He is a left handed Kimbrel clone.

It was his best outing of the year in his most high stress outing of the year. Like I said, you can't tell how a pitcher will handle the closer's role until they become the closer, but that to me is a real good sign. Good closers are notorious for not being as effective when working a non save situation.

It wont happen but I would be in favor of Benching Markakis instead of Tucker when Acuna gets called up.

Snit needs to experiment with the lineup to try and get Ender going. Maybe have Ozzie bat leadoff, Dansby bat 2nd, and drop Ender to 7 for a week or two.
