Thompson's dreaming if he thinks he's worth a max contract.

Here are the games this forum really cares about... :D

Mia @ Cle Oct 30th
Mia vs Cle Dec 5th
Mia vs Cle Mar 19th

lets just hope that in addition to those 3 games we get 4 or 5 more in May. thats if the Heat don't shit their pants again.

Damn I hope we get that playoff series. I really want the Cavs to crush this iteration of the Heat and send Riley into retirement. I am SURE the Cavs will be their in the playoffs. Lets see if the Heat can hold up their end of the bargain unlike last year when the Celtics and Nets outplayed the Heat down the stretch.

If Wade, Dragic and Whiteside was not enough to get passed the Celtics or Nets- adding Bosh to the mix is not going to make them worthy of the Cavs attention that is for sure.

Thompson's dreaming if he thinks he's worth a max contract.

It wouldn't shock me if he gets one next year from some other team (only if he takes the QO and becomes an UFA next year of course).

With all the money available next year and the fact that next year's FA class doesn't look too good... it could happen.

That said, if I were him I'd take what the Cavs are offering. He had his gamble and it already paid off... no need to go gambling again. He should lock up his one big deal right now, especially with the Cavs seemingly willing to go over his current market value.

Once Thompson gets in- which he will- the Cavs will have the most expensive roster in the history of the league. Are you ACTUALLY trying to question Dan Gilbert's commitment to spend whatever it takes to put a team that contend year in and year out for a championship when he has gone out and assembled a team that is the championship favorite and will be spending the most in the history of the league?

I mean- take a step back man- this is the crazy bullshit you are always trying to pull. The guy will be fielding the biggest tax bill in the history of the league. That is how committed he is to winning. If Arison showed that same commitment LeBron might still be there. Instead- from the Finals to the lotto- and from the lotto the Finals.

.

1. As far as Arison, once again you are proving to everyone here that you have no idea how the salary cap works. Arison never once balked at keeping a quality player just to save money. Saving money on garage players/contracts is PRUDENT.
His commitment to winning is a proven commodity, so please stop with your nonsense.
Everyone franchise should strive to be as successful as the Cavs.:L

And YES, he will have to pay Tristan, BUT WHAT is the hold up?
IT'S MONEY...
They want him to wait until next year so it isn't near as big of a hit.
If he didn't have to overpay so many other guys to satisfy James, it wouldn't be near as big of an issue, would it?
You really think Gilbert wouldn't rather have Wiggins on the books at rookie scale vs Love at max?

Then why continue to drag it out and risk pissing off Thompson, or even worse, pissing off Lebron? You keep telling us how committed Gilbert is and how he will spend whatever it takes. Yet, this drama with Thompson keeps dragging on and on with neither side budging so far.

With or without Thompson, the Cavs are going to be paying huge luxury tax. So, what's a few million more if it means keeping everyone happy and giving them the best chance to win a title?

I agree. He is really playing his hand extremely aggressively. 5 years 80 million is MORE than fair for Thompson in my estimation. If he decides not to take it and plays it out and something bad happens he will be kicking himself. Shit- just even compromise a LITTLE at least and go 5 years 85. Thats Kanter money. How is that not enough? Cmon now Tristan. Dont squander the goodwill from your great playoff's and turn this into a real pissing match.

In the end I think you are right and thats what will happen- but while we are still 10 weeks from opening night where is the urgency? If you remember Harden wasnt even decided until the day before the season started when he was traded to Houston.

Lets just hope that by the time training camp starts this is settled. It should be.

Heat/Cavs regular season in reality means nothing. Ask last years Hawks.
Yes, they are fun games because the regular season is so long and filled with bore fests...but...
You need to beat a team 4/7 when it counts.

And, you sure seem worried about the Heat..and Bosh..and continuing to show us you don't understand what that roster went through last year.

Perhaps you should be more worried about Love/Kyries bodies?

Focus on why you got your ass handed to you when it mattered.

Looks like Thompson wants 5 years, $94 million and isn't budging.

Tristan Thompson will leave Cavaliers next summer if he signs qualifying offer, agent says

Cavs are fucked if they sign him for that, because he's not worth it.

Cavs are fucked if they don't sign him for that, because they can't replace him.

What's his attitude going to be like during the season if he has to play for the qualifying offer?

this should get interesting...ESPECIALLY if he is one of LeBron's boys...

nah....not worried about "love and kyries" bodies....besides your claims- the Cavs went through their own roster upheavel and their own injuries- and SOMEHOW - ended up having the best record in the league after their trades. All the Heat did after their trade was lose ground to the Pacers, Celtics and Nets. lol. A Pacers team that was decimated by injuries and free agency, a Celtics team that was decimated by inseason trades of Green and Rondo (their two best players). Somehow- a Heat team with "perhaps the most dominating center in basketball" , as healthy as he has been in years Dwade, and Dragic LOST ground - to THOSE teams. I mean talk about roster issues? THE CELTICS?!!!! cmon man. Please explain how that happens.

After the Cavs trades all they did was have the best record in the league and go 15-1 vs. the West. The Heat couldnt hold off the stripped down Boston Celtics. lol.

How is it possibly a gamble when he has the support of James, who has Gilbert by the balls with his annual opt outs?

Unless Tristan and James get into a fight, all he needs to do is nothing and it will have to come.

I will tell you how they match up.

The Cavs are a lot better. They have the 3 best players on the court. The Cavs shoot better, rebound better, score better, have a deeper roster, have a younger roster, and probably defend better.

If they face in the playoffs I'll give the Heat 1 sympathy game where Dwade wills them to one win. 5 games max.

Easy.
Wade was terrible for many 4th qtrs.
They started over 30+ different lineups.
The system in place didn't compliment the players they ended up getting/having.
We had no outside shooting..
The list goes on and on.

Who knows how far this years roster will go, but if you don't think on paper that it tons better then last years, then you don't have a clue as to what you are looking at.

The Heat have the better SG in Wade, the better C in Whiteside, and the better PF in Bosh (slight advantage over Love).

The Cavs have the better PG in Irving and SF in James, 3 of the 5 starting positions go to Miami.

The bench? I'd say the Heat have a slight edge.

I can honestly say I've never disliked a poster as much as Wiggy. If it weren't for him (and Gilbert being the Cavs owner), I might even be happy for Cleveland.

If they handed out banners based on delusional fan predictions/analysis, the Cavs would have actually routed a parade.

Your right man. Those Celtics were just too much for you guys. I mean- I get it. Wade, Whiteside and Dragic was just not enough to hold off the likes of Isiah Thomas (who they had just traded ofr) and J. Sullinger and Avery Bradley and company. actually I think Sully was injured- heck with Jeff Green and Rajon Rondo when you have Tyler Zeller and Evan Turner
