Yeah...But, the West is gonna be BRUTAL.

So, even with this being the best roster the Clippers have ever had...

They could be a 1st round out.

I agree and it's very sad. The NBA needs to swap the Bucks and Grizzlies from their respective conferences as a start.

Yep. We told Wiggy of this from the getgo, and he said this wouldn't be an issue because Gilbert was willing to pay whatever it took so Cleveland could get its first title. Now, here's the chance for Gilbert to go ahead and give Thompson his money, yet he's not doing it, why? Whether they sign him or not, I believe the Cavs will be over the cap anyway, considering you have to factor Lebron's max contract next season. So....what's the deal? You're not going to be any better if you let Thompson walk, because you can't replace him with equal value.
oh for sure- he is going to be back for at least this coming year- but just because a guy starts throwing his weight around does not mean you overpay him just for the hell of it. I dunno about you- but I am confident Thompson is going to be a Cav a long time- it just makes too much sense for both sides- but that doesnt mean they just give him the moon just because Dan Gilbert has oodles and oodles of money. The Cavs are doing precisely what they should be doing- using the little leverage they have from restricted free agency to get the best deal possible.

Does anyone here actually think this does not eventually get worked out?

Thompson will be back this year, no one's doubting that. This is a long term issue, though.

We're just pointing out your bullshit about Gilbert. You constantly rave about how Gilbert's going to pay the highest NBA roster salary in the history of the league and that money was no exception given that he's worth $5 billion dollars. You've compared him to Arison who you have literally said is a "cheap ass", and that him being cheap with Mike Miller is what drove Lebron away. Miller was reduced to being a cheer leader making over $6 mil per on the bench, which using the amnesty was warranted by everyone, but you.

Now, it looks like Gilbert's not wanting to go so deep in the luxury. You say it's a prudent move on the Cavs part, I say bullshit. Thompson's probably asking for $20 mil per. If he has a similar situation where he has to take over in the playoffs, and especially in the Finals, he'll be asking for north of $20 million per year, I can guarantee you that.

In hindsight though, Thompson and his agent (Lebron's boy) are fucking this all up. Thompson should just sign the 5 year $80 mil contract and be done with it knowing that he's barely worth half that.

well not only Miller- but cheap stuff like not even using the midlevel exception- and trying 1st round draft pick to rid yourself of the Joel Anthony mistake contract were some of the examples I used-

and indeed- Gilbert will have the highest payroll in the history of the league for his championship favorite team that will tip off in late October- but just because he is fielding the most expensive roster in the history of the league does not mean that he should just overpay everyone. SURE he could have offered Mo Williams the full mid level- but didnt- because he didnt have to. Let me get this straight- yo uare saying just pay guys whatever they want just because you can? lol....theres guys on your hurricanes that will be making more money than Mo williams this year. lol.

i definitely tend to agree with you- that Thompson getting 5 years 80 is perfectly fair and signifies Gilbert going above and beyond to bring this guy back- and I cant blame Griffin for using the limited leverage he has instead of just giving Tristan Thompson 20M a year just because Dan can afford it.

I can't wait for October, when Mike Miller and Tristan Thompson and Dan Gilbert won't account for 90% of this NBA forum :D

You have said a million times that is exactly what he should and will do.
UN FUCKING BELIEVABLE

Where's the speech about how many billions he has, and how many hundreds of millions that James makes for him?
You know, the one about the casinos, the one about the willing to spend whatever...'cause luxury tax means nothing?

Facts are, you are making a clown of yourself here, twisting and spinning because Gilbert is doing exactly what you accused Arison of.
Difference being, James never said that Anthony, Miller or whatever junk we let walk should ever be a "Heat for life" player and he did about Tristan and the Cavs.

And, yes, Im almost 100% sure he'll get the contract, but ONLY because he knows his deal with James which includes him knowing that he will walk in a fucking minute if things aren't going his way.

What lengths Wiggy will go through to not have to say that he was 100% wrong about Gilbert not caring about luxury tax.

GOOD ONE!!!! LOL!!!! your on fire!!! do you think you would have a more pleasant disposition if the Lakers didnt suck?

btw, since when does my team's status(good OR bad) have anything to do with my "disposition"...?

I mean, if worse TRULY came to worse I COULD just look into the Lakers trophy case to feel better...just like YOU would do if LeFail and the rest of his Cavs merry men come up short again by switching jerseys like I hear you tend to do...:dhd:

Yeah...after the ball was tipped. Stupid Cunteyes....oops, meant Buckeyes.

didn't like 'em all that much myself way back when it was pretty much a guarantee they'd play the Trojans in the Rose Bowl out here in good ol' Pasadena...

AM glad CFB finally got with some kind of a playoff system, though...

Oh, was that supposed to be a jab at the Shapiro scandal? Wow, players taking gifts and money for play in college football, that only happens at Miami. Give me a fucking break. Didn't you fucks get busted over some tatoos not too long ago? You hypocritical shit. At least Miami gets in trouble for shit that's worth it. You fucks got busted over the dumbest shit. Let's talk about your pompous dumbass of an AD who could've taken a bowl ban the year before Meyer took over. Instead you thought you'd get away with it and wasted a perfect season.

and let's face it, there's NO better fight song...:suds:

I can't even get excited about the Canes this year. We actually have talent, yet our fuck head of a coach will fuck it all up. Dude had the most talented Canes roster in about a decade, yet goes 6-7 and blames it on selfish attitudes. FML
