LOL. Do I sense some sarcasm here?

The Packers are just cruising right now. Of course Sanchez in instead of Foles certainly doesn't help the Eagles cause.

Color commentator during the Raiders-Chargers game...

"It seems like the Chargers have this almost put away, but really the Raiders are one play away from winning this game."

The score was 13-3 at the time.

They just threw a Hail Mary on 1st down in the OAK-SD game. The ball very clearly hit the ground with 0:02 left. And they called the game over.

Raiders didn't put up much of a fight about it either.

Weird. Terrible call, even more pathetic the Raiders didn't even protest it.

NFL suspends Vikings RB Peterson for at least rest of season - Article - TSN

Plead no contest to all counts
Admitted to using a banned substance during suspension/probation
Missed a meeting to discuss the situation with the league

On what grounds exactly is he appealing? The "waaaaaah, I wanna make money" defense? Dumbass should count his blessing that they are open to reinstatement. What other organization on earth would give you a "three strikes and you can try again" deal?

Congress.

Well, when you write the rules you break and are also partially responsible for enforcement, these things happen.

Senator Adrian Peterson of Minnesota has the floor.

I sort of hate myself for this, but I see his point. I certainly don't think he has the right to play, but the league certainly hasn't given him their due diligence in regard to what was agreed in the CBA. The NFL rarely does. It's amazing how much power the commissioner has in the NFL. Amazing and disgusting. Again: this seems like a pretty easy case, but they've handled this case in a reactionary fashion because of the backlash with the Rice incident. I can't necessarily fault them for doing so, but it's resulted in the guy not even being listened to, from what I can tell. That's not a good precedent either. That CBA the NFL players agreed to is really a joke. I think the NFLPA is defending him because this will set a precedent moving forward. More guys will fall into legal trouble, innocent or guilty, and the league could continue to do it in a way that they didn't agree to with the players. So, I guess my point is that I hope the NFL finds something in the CBA with which they can bury Peterson (isn't there that player conduct thing they got Roethlisberger with, although in the old CBA?), but they shouldn't be able to do whatever the hell they want. Goodell is a tsar up there. Having one guy in charge of everything is a very, very bad way to run a business.

Was that the first NHL game where two Bergers were under center? I was expecting Mitch Berger to go out and punt at some point.

Every Leafs game has "Two Burgers" (Kessel's Indian name) under centre. (Bozak)

Ben Tate waived by the Browns. Denver and Indy have to be interested right?

Probably too low on the wire honestly. I wouldn't be surprised to see him snatched up pretty quick. I know he has his issues (apparently, I guess. He was in the *cough* dog house), but there are plenty of teams out there lacking depth at RB.

Steelers released Blount because he left the field early yesterday. That's not reactionary or anything.
