I'm sure Twitter will be full of people more concerned about their fantasy teams than anything else.

/Good thing I took McCoy 1st overall :peep:

I had a late pick so I have Andre Ellington, suddenly his foot issues don't seem so bad.

Saving face > everything else.

yep. this is a pathetic league for dealing with these very serious incidents and continuing issues. They have shown that winning is way more important than a toddler getting beat or a woman getting knocked out. They have failed at every level for holding up to the standard that one of the largest leagues in the world should have set the level. Peterson is still getting paid and I dont really care about that part hes not playing and should he be found guilty should never play again. I doubt that will happen.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Peterson will still earn the $11.75 million he is owed this season. With his trial on child abuse charges not expected to begin until 2015, Peterson will likely miss at least the entire 2014 season. In a statement announcing the decision, the Vikings said he'll be away from the team "until the legal proceedings are resolved."

Even if you ignore the public relations angle of keeping Peterson on the team, the Vikings could save a ton of money by releasing him.

Peterson is three years into a six-year, $96 million contract extension. However, the Vikings have already paid out the $36 million in guaranteed money that the contract contained, according to Sportrac. That means they can cut Peterson without paying him a dime of the ~$56 million he is owed between now and 2017. The only financial penalty of cutting him would be a small cap hit ($2.7 million this year and $2.4 million in 2015, Sportrac reports).

Because his contract is non-guaranteed from here on out, the Vikings have no real obligation to keep him.

Hey, a beer doesn't get mad when you come home with beer on your breath. Also, a beer will wait patiently while you play a game of football.

Or from '91-'95 when he was HC of the Browns.

In all seriousness, I don't know how someone doesn't know that Belichick isn't the type of guy that is liked all that much in the NFL? You hear story after story from players and anyone who covers the NFL about how much of a dick he is, and how unprofessional he is.

He can win all the games he wants, but that doesn't change the fact that people hate his personality, or how he conducts himself as a human being. Next to him, even plaid wallpaper would be charming and likeable.

Oh, and just like Dorothy Mantooth, Mary Levy is a Saint!!!!

In all seriousness, I don't care who disliked Bill Belichik.

I said I like him.

That's all that matters to me.

Read my lips.

As ironic as the sweat shop centric Nike and the alcohol company calling out the NFL is...it's the only reason anything is happening.

its all a pr play for the corporate sponsors to distance themselves PLUS put themselves in a favorable light amongst consumers ... who despite all the clamouring about potential boycotts/protests ... havent stopped consuming the NFL as a product ... NFL football goes 1 2 3 in the tv ratings for the week ended Sunday Sept 14 TV Ratings Broadcast Top 25: ?Sunday Night Football? Tops Week 51 With Adults 18-49 & With Total Viewers - Ratings | TVbytheNumbers.Zap2it.com

so Nike and Anheuser Busch get the eyes seeing their ads on tv thanks to the NFL PLUS they get the people upset with the NFL ... money!

But you can't stop at one.. you've got to drink another woman.
