Yeah, I'm sure there was a mighty string of curses heard coming from his office when he was informed that Minnesota had re-instated Peterson for next week.

I could be wrong, but I don't think there's anything the league can do discipline-wise under the CBA until the matter has been decided in court.

All in all a good day on the gridiron for me.

Dallas, Pats, Cards all win.

Saints, SF and Seahawks all lose....

So you have the Cowboys AND Patriots as favorite teams?

Congratulations, Jeff Sly. I think your teasing has come to an end. ;)

Enact the Roethlisberger clause then. It was something like being detrimental to league image? I can't remember the exact words used, but he was suspended prior to the matter being settled I'm pretty sure...and he was never found guilty. So, there's precedent actually.

Yeah, if anything the CBA gives LOTS of excuse for the league to take action far before any legal action is taken. Ben Rapelisberger is a great example.

Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
Ben will be watching you

So the guy the Colts waived back in August just kicked the game winning FG to beat the Colts.

You know that guy is loving every moment of it.

Luck with a pretty classy post game presser and taking the blame when some REALLY lousy calls basically cost the Colts the game there.

So the NFL has a video showing Luck beating himself up? Looks like Roger Goodell has no choice but to suspend him 6 games.

I'll bet they stole it while everyone was busy watching the football game?

I'm sure Goodell will say he didn't see the video of it.

^Read second sentence mid-drink with an Arnold Palmer.... big mistake.

I think the new CBA disposed of that, sadly.

From Article 46 of the NFL CBA:

...involving action taken against a player by the Commissioner for conduct detrimental to the integrity of, or public confidence in, the game of professional football...

So, yeah, I guess he could suspend his ass. He could also suspend Ray McDonald, whom is somehow inexplicably not being roasted like the other two despite the fact his charges are probably worse than the other two combined.

This also caught my eye, both in relation to Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson. From Section 4, the "One Penalty Rule":

The Commissioner and a Club will not both discipline a player for the same act or conduct. The Commissioner’s disciplinary action will preclude or supersede disciplinary action by any Club for the same act or conduct.

So while the rage being thrown at the Vikings is understandable, if they were to discipline him they would be precluding disciplinary action from the league.
