I'll accept it, even though Lee Evans no longer plays for the Bills, or the NFL for that matter?

Neither.

Under NFL ownership rules, the Pegulas are allowed to own both the Bills and the Sabres because the franchises are in the same market.

It's only 3PM...that's a great time for a snack.

Very cool for Buffalo. Hopefully he'll clean house ASAP!! The Bills need a major direction change.

Heard a great point regarding Goodell and the league. The NFL is the most powerful sports organization in the world, they have a bottomless pit of money and have an army of the best lawyers money can buy. You mean to tell me they couldn't get their hands on the video but TMZ could? Harvey Levin has more pull than Roger Goodell? Come on now.

I heard a rumor that he's going to build a new stadium in the next couple of years with a retractable roof, and not even wait for money from the state to do it?

This way the stadium can host all sorts of events throughout the year, and generate more money and interest into the area.

Needless to say, Terry Pegula is literally bringing Buffalo back from the dead.

Here's my take on the NFL & the video. We know that Rice's attorney had a copy of the video. Rice his Fiancee & Newsome were at the league offices talking to Goodell about the incident. Trying to get as lenient a deal as possible. Goodell could have simply said to Rice I need to see the second tape. I have a hard time believing the league didn't see the second tape period.

Something tells me Goodell has slightly higher standards of how low he's willing to stoop than TMZ. I wouldn't be shocked to learn that TMZ paid a hooker to give a disgruntled former security guard a BJ to get their hands on the tape.

I'll be surprised if she gets it. It's not that I don't think she's qualified. I just have a hard time believing the 32 owners will hire her.

I love Condi. I can't fully explain why, but I simply love her. I'd trust her.

However, everything I've heard has said that the owners simply don't care enough to boot him. Which is sad. But they just made 1.4billion on a sale of one of the "bad" teams. Sooooo...they're not exactly upset.

Every city should be so lucky to have someone like him.

Every team/city should have owners with legitimate ties to the area or team. It makes a huge difference. When you simply have super rich idiots buying teams for the sake of having a team, you run into issues. Someone needs to be a bit emotionally invested, not just financially, because then they'll make decisions based purely on finance.

this is true ... but as commissioner, all he is is the front man for league damage control ... the thing is, he hasnt been controlling damage that well lately :noidea:

I agree, and I think he needs to go for more than one reason. However, the "insiders" and comments from owners and executives have really been supportive of how he's handled things. You'd think lying about things or being inept at investigating would be viewed negatively, but all the owners see is $$$$$$$$$$$ that is never ending, no matter how poor PR has been.

I agree. I understand wanting to make a profit, but if ownership truly cares about the city he/she is going to be invested for the long haul which should benefit them down the line in a big way.

Please hire Bettman. Please hire Bettman.

Through all of this stuff, and some other crap...Bettman has emerged as the best of the commissioners. Scary. Their review system was original, and is now being replicated by others. They have probably the best disciplinary system (the NFL still having the all knowing and all powerful commish making a decision on his own is pretty terrible). Parity is a bit more prominant throughout the league, etc. I have my issues with Bettman, but his mistakes are far less awful. Of course, anyone who watched League of Denial or who knows a bit about Goodell's background would hate and not trust the guy.
