I dont always agree with Goodell, but I don't think he is stupid. Part of me thinks there is no way he could have seen that video and given the two games.

I agree with that. Especially knowing that the video exists and would come out eventually. I don't really believe he ever saw it.

But still, he could have made some solid assumptions about what happened in that elevator.

Imagine how disappointed I was when I discovered that "Ray Rice" couldn't be used in the Madden 15 Giferator.

That may be true, but how did reporters like Mortensen describe in detail almost verbatim what the elevator tape showed today? How could the reporters' sources have seen it and not the commish?

I like to think that way, too. But, then again, we're talking about a 25 billion dollars a year company, and then we're talking about TMZ. How does the NFL, one of the most successful brands in this country, not get their hands on this video from the police about one of their own? Why are they just finding out about this now through all sources, but some sleazy tabloid website?

Just reminds me why I appreciate the NHL more as a fan. Sure, there was that incident with Varly last season, but by and large the NHL just doesn't have a soup du jour story like this every freakin' week like the NFL seems to. I have a level of respect that is 10x greater for the people of the NHL as opposed to the NFL.

If I were you I'd wait until all the facts come in about the Sidney Crosby arrest before you make statements like that.

I thought that 'purple monkey dishwasher' line the Ottawa Sun used was uncalled for...

That motherfucker is shameless.

One of the talking heads on NBCSN just said that the Ravens should be angry at Ray Rice for putting them in that situation by not being honest about the details. That they can't tolerate lying to cover his own ass. They should tell him to just man up and let justice take its course.

With a straight face he said it.

I can see why the Ravens should be upset with a lot of people acting that way. I mean, there is only so much space for statues.

This "We're victims in this too" shit the NFL is trying to push down our throats is pretty fucking disgusting.

One thing (Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti) made very clear: There is no comparison of me and Ray Rice. It's night and day. It's night and day of anything we've ever been through. And that's why both situations are totally different."

:L

Agreed Mr. Lewis. In one case a person got knocked out, in your case a person bled out.

Big difference indeed.

I have to question the wisdom of having Ray Lewis speak on this subject - I mean, I get it, he's a former teammate and I know 'it's all about the ratings', but shouldn't common sense and optics still win out at the end of the day?

In today's NFL, all publicity is good publicity, no matter how bad it is.

Yeah, seems a tad hypocritical. Just giving the man a job at Espin to begin with says all you need to know about their integrity and morals.

My bad. I forgot just how prolific Ray was in his time.

Low life.

It's all good. Happened so long ago, I'm sure most of what happened that night has long since been forgotten. Lewis knows what happened, though. He has to live with it every day of his life. The fact he makes a point in saying there is no comparison between himself and Ray Rice just makes me cringe, though.

TMZ Harvey Levin tells fox 5 dc Roger Goodell and the NFL knew about the videos and tuned a blind eye. Will release the info tomorrow.

If true, I think Roger is toast.
