Probably. The only real question is if Silver does indeed have the votes to run him out.

What is the NBA expansion rules anyway.. Could they steal legitimate players from good teams??(not superstars)

you can silence a persons words but you cant take what is in their heart and mind so ya didnt win anything

How is that relevant to this topic? Are you suggesting that Don Sterling is somehow a wise & virtuous person?

He gains nothing from not having a lawsuit... the lawsuit he can either win, or lose while bringing NBA dirt into light... He really has nothing to lose... Especially if we are to assume he is going to die soon!!!

He has nothing to GAIN either. The NBA has more money for lawyers than he does. They have more resources. The costs to Sterling will be financial, emotional, and personal. His name and reputation will be MORE ruined than it already is. He WILL lose business partners - nobody will want to be known as doing business with him.

A lawsuit costs him more than he can ever win. He's better off just selling at an ENORMOUS profit and walking away.

Mark Cuban is already coming out denouncing this. It's bullshit and everyone knows it.

I don't know what you are getting at here. His post was wrong. I just pointed it out.

He said the owners would not support the 3/4 vote.

It is already a done deal.

Not sure what you were trying to accomplish with your poem you wrote to me. :noidea:

Maybe he sues, maybe he doesn't. It really doesn't matter. By the time this hits a courtroom, he'll probably be dead.

The NBA can tie up this in court for YEARS. And even if he's putting out their laundry, they're airing his as well.

A lawsuit does nothing for Sterling but buy him time to find a buyer of his choosing. He gets nothing out of a lawsuit.

APPEALS can take years. Getting an injunction against the league may take hours.

And his laundry is out. Theirs is still in the hamper, and they'd probably like to keep it that way.

Look...the nicest thing I can say about this guy is that he does a good job of converting oxygen into CO2. But that doesn't change the fact that the league is essentially punishing thought-crime, and that is troubling. He has a legal leg to stand on, and then some.

The best thing that could come out of this would be if the old bastard decided to sell. But I'm not holding my breath.

From what we know about Sterling, he will probably sell AND sue. And who knows what dirty laundry about the other NBA owners may come out then? Who knows what Sterling would testify to about private conversations that he's had with other owners or of which he allegedly has knowledge? Could get fun!

For some reason Don Sterling has fans, all he had to do was say something racist. Who knew? :noidea:

Everyone is better off as a result of Adam Silver's decision, even Donald Sterling.

I agree he could be a bigot, but he doesn't have to commit a crime to be banned from the NBA.

but that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic. Like nothing.

There are people who would find faults in many of our private convos. But this is a different animal.
