It was a fucking private moment, mamba. What precedent does this set? It's like personal opinion that is NOT made public by ones on choice, but done so illegally is punishable now. Cuban was right in that it's a slippery slope. Be prepared for more of this type of shit and for it to get even worse. At some point in the near future holding opinion that is not PC will become a crime. But hey, let's applaud this ridiculousness. I don't defend his racism at all, it's despicable; but what they are doing, are being allowed to do, and how the media attacked this like crazed wolves is disgusting.

The forced sale will not go through. You have a bunch of old rich white conservatives who don't believe that anybody should lose any part of their private business. And since Silver answers to the owners, the majority of them will request a silent vote in which the "No" voters can't be identified under penalty of breach of contract, then proceed to vote "No" on whether or not to force him to sell.

Money takes care of money.

It doesn't matter......the bottom line is, Sterling was outed long ago for being a racist pig....this latest episode brought it to critical mass....so kudos to the media, the new commish, the players, general public et al for voicing outrage and opposition and leading to a swift, concise remedy.
Those of you who want to paint him as some sort of victim by his GF's "motives" are missing the underlying theme.

He needed to GTFO...ASAP/

A fucking private moment that is now public that shows his true thoughts and feelings towards black people.

lol... Ever heard of twitter? Nearly every owner has basically publicly voted to oust him since Silver's decision.

Obviously the guy is a scumbag, but I agree to this to some extent. We can't let extortion go just because people are emotional about racism.

It's costing the league money. Blame the sponsors for bailing, if you're gonna complain about something.

Not making excuses for the guy, but really, you've never made jokes or comments with buddies behind closed doors or on the golf course about black (or any race) people that could very easily be taken out of context?

Lets get something clear.

They can't vote to force him to sell.

What they CAN do is vote to terminate his franchise. What this means is he still owns a basketball team......just not an NBA basketball team.

If that happens his franchise effectively is worthless. He'll either sue or sell WELL before that happens if they do indeed have those votes.

Again, this is a situation where even if they do get rid of sterling, sterling will sue... and the results of the lawsuit are irrelevant, sterling will do all he can do dirty the name of NBA...

Of course... I also don't employ African Americans that have turned my $15 million business into a half a billion dollar business either or work for a global Association with other piers who are billionaires.

i don't rely on selling tickets to fill 20,000 seats 45 times a year with over half minorities.

And as far as out of context? No way.

Telling your ol lady you can fuck black dudes. Just do it behind closed doors because it is embarrassing to be seen with them is pretty clear cut.

Assuming this is true, then wouldn't they then make an expansion teams under the expansion rules??

Maybe he sues, maybe he doesn't. It really doesn't matter. By the time this hits a courtroom, he'll probably be dead.

The NBA can tie up this in court for YEARS. And even if he's putting out their laundry, they're airing his as well.

A lawsuit does nothing for Sterling but buy him time to find a buyer of his choosing. He gets nothing out of a lawsuit.

He gains nothing from not having a lawsuit... the lawsuit he can either win, or lose while bringing NBA dirt into light... He really has nothing to lose... Especially if we are to assume he is going to die soon!!!

Everything is fine to me except the forced sale of the team, that's just too much.
