I would agree with you, except how is this a lack of supplemental discipline? All within the last year:

Those are 2 suspensions split between 3 bullet points. They were also weeks apart from each other. Both instances were in the preseason and were his first suspended offenses in his 5 year career. He followed that up with a full season avoiding any discipline up until now. Given his reputation and perception, there is a general lack of supplemental discipline in his career.

Regardless, I think we are disagreeing on semantics. The main point I'm trying to make is that the onus is on the NHL DPS to protect their players better with better rules/enforcement. It is then on players like Tom Wilson to adjust once they do make changes.

Yeah I noticed. I corrected my post before you replied. I left out previous fines, would you consider fines supplemental discpline?

Anyway, I agree on your last post.

Hey guise, I got a radical new idea. Enforcer in the bank.

Each team is allowed one goon/enforcer to dress for the game but he doesn't take up a roster spot - essentially the 19th skater. But this designated enforcer/goon is only allowed one shift per period - and must take that one shift per period provided he hasn't been given a game misconduct or match penalty. That should reinstate the element of players policing themselves. And if you go to overtime, well that's another period and that dude must take a shift.

/cannot be used with win in the bank, and enforcer in the bank has to be on the team's active roster, not some 12 hour call up from the Federal League.

Yeah, there either. This way the teams cannot call up their Guardian and dress him either. I know the Pens guardian shot ice missiles out of his hands but not sure if that could slow down Wilson.

What about the California Penal League?

I mean this idea is.. I don't know, this thing could get wild if your idea takes hold @esls79.

As a player that wasn't suspended for the four seasons prior and one who's been pretty tame this season since until the last few weeks. Meh... we won't agree. I just think he's more Brooks Orpik or Milan Lucic than Matt Cooke or Steve Downie. But I wear red glasses and you wear black/yellow, so that impacts the view as well.

I doubt we will ever agree but hey, we are fans of opposing teams.

You said he wasn't suspended in the 4 seasons prior, but if you will look at the link in Dark's post, he did have hits that were borderline. Somehow he has manged to get the benefit of the doubt. I think those benefits are about to expire.

My Pens have been pretty powerless on the powerplay. Plus the Caps are scoring on their man advantages.

Nice, he'll be back for game 7. Just in time to cost the Caps the series.

3 games seems excessive to me. I figured he would get 1 game and maybe a 2nd because he has had marginal hits in 2 consecutive games.

Enjoy your sloppy seconds. ;)

From who? Dario Franchitti?

I would be happy to loan the Pens Brandon Dubisnky. Provided they NEVER send him back.

That works. One for the Wennberg hit, one for Dumolin and one for this one.

Wheel O' Justice has a bit of lag.

Ahem.

And for my next act, I will provide a scientific analysis of the goaltenders in this series.

Goaltending is voodoo and no one knows how it works.

I thought 1 at most but not 3. Anyway that is the NHL react instead of preventing.
