Stat of the Day - In 9 playoff games, the Caps have been beaten in regulation only once, with a late 3rd period goal in game 1 of this series being the only time the Caps ended 60 minutes without at least a share of the lead. They are the only team in the playoffs to not be beaten by multiple goals.

Love the 60-minute game and the consistent effort from these guys. Peaking at the right time.

Caps will have to insert Travis Boyd, Nathan Walker, or Shane Gersich into the lineup. I really hope it's Gersich b/c he showed such flashes of brilliance in his few starts this year and his defensive fundamentals are so sound for a 21-year old. Plus, speed kills.

It would also give Brock Boeser a chance to continue a funny, social media bit the two have been doing for several years now.

We'll likely know after the morning skate what the lineup changes are and who gets his first start these playoffs.

Nothing against Boyd or Walker but I'd also like to see Gersich in the lineup tonight

Just an obeservation about Hockey and Baseball.

This got a 5 game suspension (in the regular season) in MLB...

This gets a 3 game (post season) suspension in the NHL...

You're kinda right on that. I have plans tonight set along time ago and will miss most of the game and I'm kinda ok with it as weird as that sounds. It'll be recorded and I'll be checking scores of course but not watching it live is gonna be ok. Saves some beer in the fridge from getting abused tonight

Never. And in my heart of hearts I really don't believe that. Something different about this team. Doesn't mean we'll win the Cup or even this series, but something different going on here.

Top line DSP is slightly worrisome just due to the lack of previous success, but he's played very well in these playoffs. Gersich in is nice to see, but I'm skeptical about how much ice time he'll get. That 3rd line can either be a game breaking line or get stuck in their own zone. Once again, game 4 shapes up to be power v power.

I'm going to miss most of tonight's game. My PhD adviser's PhD adviser is here to give a talk, and the talk starts when the game does, and immediately after that I have elections for a chemistry organization I have to attend.

I'll probably try to stream the game on my phone during elections, though.
