Don't do it again Banister. That was embarrassing.
I have a feeling Rua might get called up now after that garbage.

Again the opposing pitcher, no way had 1 hit stuff and there were really no great plays made behind him. Not sure what the issue is as to why they looks so bad offensively so often
I actually never understood calling up Strausborger or Stubbs who we had just picked up and for that matter Gallo. But if we are going to use the excuse of trying to build up Gallo's confidence then why not Rua's. This is on Banister and JD. We are in a playoff race and we need to be trying to put our best foot forward. I mean I would rather see an unproven Mazara and Brinson up here regardless of starting their clock if it meant it helped us put our best forward in making the playoffs. I am not saying that is what we should do but using it as an example. Why bring total spares up.I'd like for someone to shut up Evan Grant with a punch to the face. That condescending lap dog is telling everyone on Twitter who dares question Banny's decision to use Stubbs and Strausborger that they just don't know better and that Banny has no other options vs. a lefty pitcher. He's using Venable's .220 average against lefties as proof.
Hey shit stain, I'd gladly take Venable's .220 average right about now instead of Strausborger or Stubbs, take your pick. Because right now, I am every bit as useful as those 2 black holes. I could fill in tonight if you need someone to go 0 for 4 with 4 K's.
Say it with me now: Dave Magadan.
Good points Saddles. I look at the Cubs and they have completely turned that team around. Some of that is because they have one of the best managers in baseball in my opinion. The other is they have been infused with talented youth. It just invigorates a team and fans. Look how excited everyone was when Gallo first came up. The only reason the Angels are doing anything is youth. The guys they spent a lot of money on in Pujols and Hamilton and others was not going to get anything done without youth (Trout and Calhoun). We need young players who gets the whole team excited. And sometimes you just have to roll the dice and go with the young promising stars and see what they can bring. Don't get me wrong, you need some veterans which is why I say you have to infuse those young guys with the veterans to help bring that excitement. And I am not having a problem with Choo right now. But Saddles you are probably right on Fielder and Beltre but I think they still have value for now as well. We just need to have a talented youth infusion. We don't have to go any further to see what DeShields has done for this team with his youth and speed. He did not look ready. Who really knows if Mazara and Brinson are ready or not until we get to see it for ourselves. And how much excitement would that bring to the team and fans.At some point JD is going to have to figure a way to get more consistent offense on this team. It has been a problem for at least 3 years now. Two years ago we were topped only by the lowly Astros in the number of games where we scored 3 runs or less. That year we had 74 such games. This year we are on pace to once again do that 74 times. I don't know if we are going to have to wait until that help comes from within via guys like Gallo, Profar, Brinson and Mazara or if we are going to have to spend on free agent hitters, but something needs to be done.
If we stand pat in the offseason we could very well be in even worse shape offensively next season. We have some aging veterans in Choo, Prince, and Beltre who could very well decline from this year. I also think a good case could be made that we may have witnessed Mitch Moreland's best year and he could very well not be as productive or healthy next season. We have no real answer for LF and the jury is still out on DeShields since he has only hit about .220 since August 1st.
Oh look who suddenly showed up.
I don't have a problem with the way Choo is playing right now either. I just don't expect it to last. I like the idea of selling high with him in the offseason. I would rather not wait until he bottoms out and then have to pay to have someone take him like we did with Harrison.Good points Saddles. I think there is a good chance that they could hit the ground running as well as Stubbs and Strausborger and maybe even Venable but I am okay with him. This is not something I have been for previously it is just me throwing out a crazy idea. But it is working for Houston too. Look at Correa. How long did it take him? The Angels waited so long a few years ago to call up Trout it cost them a chance at the playoffs. Its a fine line and I know it.I don't have a problem with the way Choo is playing right now either. The problem in going with youth is that it requires a lot of patience for both the fans and the front office. Most young guys don't hit the ground running. They may take a few hundred consistent at bats to get acclimated to the big leagues. The same is true with young pitching. Most fans wanted to run Derek out of town after his first couple of years and now he is pitching like an ace when he is healthy.
