Absolutely pathetic offense. No runs in last 21 innings.

Yep. 2 and 1/3 complete games without a run you can't just write off as great opposing pitching. There is a collective funk running through the lineup right now. I can count the number of hard-hit balls they've put in play in those 21 innings on one hand, and those were all right at someone (bad luck).

Coincidentally, this whole drought started when the Rangers loaded the bases in the 6th inning against Anibal Sanchez and were looking to add on more. The Tigers brought on no-name spare Warwick Saupold (over 6.00 ERA) and the Rangers responded with 3 straight outs and 0 runs added on to their lead. Nobody thought much of it at the time because we had an 8-1 lead, but that was the beginning of the futility.

I hate hearing excuses from Pudge and Mac. They can't possibility believe the crap they spit out. It's hard to defend this kind of garbage but they have to we know. Just say we stink and let it go.

Oh well. One of the best pitchers in baseball shuts down one of the worst offenses in baseball. No real surprise there.

But in the big picture, a negative run differential for a 1st place team 19 games over .500. Something is very wrong with this team.

Who the heck is the hitting coach for this team? Seems like its Odor.

Run differential is so meaningless to me. I don't care how they win the actual games, just that they do. Right now they have some stuff to work on, and they have some time to straighten it out.

Maybe this team is just tired? It seems like they have played a lot lately. I know they have an offday coming up this week and for Desmond, it will be badly needed because the Rooster is too stupid to rest him for a game or two.

All I know is Ian Desmond had a career best couple months in May and June. I think the actual player is much closer to what we are seeing now. No way I give this guy a huge 5 year deal. In fact unless he's willing to only take a 3 year deal I let him go. Would rather have seen Brinson in CF next year anyway. Oh well...

And its not just Desmond. The poor disciplined, bad approaches at the plate seem systemic with the Rangers. Odor has what, 10 or 11 walks on the season? That is beyond bad. And with his defense being below average, I'm good with trading him for pitching.

Yes. Lots and lots of work to be done by this team over the next 6 weeks. Right now they would scare nobody in October if they get there.

Worst offenses in baseball? Please go away.

They are homers big time and Mac is the biggest. There just is not any true analysis by those on the team's payroll so to speak in most sports anymore because they want to keep their jobs.

Was wondering if we could get 3 out of Claudio. Lot of hits do SP lately. Hopefully pen is rested and we get reset off Ross D. Need Dutch to find some velo and a slider. If not we will need Colby asap. Just wondering if we have seen last of good Dutch. Hope not

New thread is up. People should move over sooner rather than later. Let's forget this series ever happened.

Starting to get an ill feeling about the home stretch run of the season. Seems other teams who are struggling with injured pitchers make a call to AAA and get decent starts out of young pitchers and even retreads. Our well is dry and we know it as we all are hoping Colby and Dutch come back nails tough.
