Seems like a logical way to do it.... If the league is hell bent on having Thursday night football I think that's a potential solution...

It's a good idea, but if they're gonna do TNF all year, it's probably not feasible.

I wrote up a schedule that may extend the overall season by a couple of weeks, but it has Thursday Games with the Weekend on each side as unscheduled.
ex:
Week 1: Sunday game
Week 2: Off on Sunday
midweek: Play Thursday
Week 3: Sunday off
Week 4: Play Sunday

So, in 4 weeks, team plays 3 games, Make these games division games.

That would mean some teams would have to have bye weeks in the 2nd & 3rd weeks, etc. That would be a pretty big disadvantage IMO.

It's still better than risking injury from fatigue playing on 3 days rest though... It's even more of a disadvantage if your the travel team which we have been the last couple times... NFL needs to fix this because 3 day's rest in-between football games tell's me the people making the rules have NO @#$^ing clue about football.... Roger needs to suit up and feel it a bit...

Just proves what we ALREADY know. Its all about the money. The NFLs "focus on safety" is only a facade. They focus on safety if its convenient for their bottom line.

Yes it is about the money. They focus on concussions because there is research and a LAWSUIT against them for it. If there was research on injuries or long term effects of playing on limited rest and a lawsuit, they would change the Thursday night thing.

I actually don't blame the NFL for the concussion safety stuff, I blame the players, ex-players and the player's union. They forced this issue, and the NFL has to protect itself against lawsuits. The players are payed to play a violent game and do so willfully. Did Ali sue someone for beating his brain to shit?

I would be all for this idea if the NFL continue to entertain the idea of having a doubleheader for Thursday. Very obvious that it's all about the money.
