All joking and thread parody aside, Im still not 100% sure. All I know is that going into the season I would have been thrilled to even field a top 70 defense after these past several seasons of gawd awful defense and they have vastly surpassed that in both attitude and production to this point. The Stoops led defense would have been down big before halftime given the stupid turnovers Saturday, yet under Grinch, we have yet to give up a TD all season after a turnover. Even the plays where we have given up big chunks at times this season, the players have been in position to make stops as opposed to years in the past. When it came to competing with the elite teams in the past, (the Alabama’s, the Clemson’s, the Georgia’s, etc) it always felt like we had to produce on offense at a near flawless level. This team just feels different in that regard. Much more of a balanced team. Something we having felt in a while.
