The bizarro season continues............

I'm starting to think our FG kickers are just jinxed or our holder is screwing with them somehow. 5 for 17 on the year and 0-9 from 40-49 is unheard of in the NFL. I have faith Prater will bounce back though. After hearing he was kicking into a 17 MPH wind -- the 52 yarder is even more impressive.

Other bizarre issues this season:

Our offense, which was supposed to be unstoppable with the addition of Tate and Ebron have been anything but.

Our defense, which was supposed to be our weakness has been steam rolling teams. I literally got a chubby today watching them camped out in the backfield against Minnesota. 8 sacks, 3 interceptions and only 3 points allowed. All I can say is WOW. They are the reason we are 4-2 right now.

Our CB's were supposed to be our biggest weakness, but they have played tremendous for much of the year, even with players getting signed off the street to fill in because of injuries.

Our OL -- which was supposed to be a big strength this year, has been the opposite. We are at the top of the NFL in sacks allowed and for whatever strange reason -- we seem to struggle to run the ball until it is blatantly obvious we are going to run late in games. No clue why, but the OL excels at opening holes late in the 4th quarter.

The DL has been an absolute beast for us this year. Whether it is stuffing the run or pressuring the QB -- they do it all.

I was critical of the Austin signing as DC -- but all I can say now is -- THANK GOD he is on our side. What he has done with our defense is nothing short of genius. Now I just hope and pray no one tries to sign him away as a head coach.

The regular season is long. Few teams can dominate all season. The offense has not been good but they still can get in a groove and make a run. The hot teams win the Super Bowl these days. Lombardi is learning as the season goes on. The offense will come along.

I have to agree. Now that our offense seems to be our weakness, what coaches are out there to help us....Tons of talent on that side of the ball, but the production isn't matching it.

Prater's misses at least looked legit instead of that weak ass shit Henery and Freese attempted. But if I was Prater I would definitely be renting until he shows he can be clutch!

Not happy with Stafford's game Manager act. He needs to take shots down the field every once in awhile. I was waiting for the double move all afternoon. It would have been gold due to all the sinks and dunks they were throwing.

If Stafford can only find that middle ground he will be a top 10 QB. A team with a legit offense and I don't think Detroit gets the Win.

4-2 after 6 is still where they should be. It would have been so nice to be 5-1 right now, fucking kicker.

I think they tried to take a shot down field a few times, but for whatever reason, our OL has been struggling in pass protection.

I guess it is a pick your poison type of thing. People were critical of Stafford for forcing too many balls last year. This year -- he has cut down the turnovers, but without Calvin the last 3 games -- it has been much more short routes.

Not sure if that is the play calling or what? I know the Saints throw a ton of short balls, which is why Cooks has so many catches this year and their running back always end up with like 150 catches on the year. So it may be the play calling.

I think once they are healthy and have Calvin with Tate -- the offense will be fine. I just hope they fix their blocking schemes, as the last two games -- it has been rough on the QB, when you are running for the life. Both QB's are going to be sore tomorrow after all the hits they took in today's game.

I agree. That is what I like about this year. The offense has shown they can do it. They have just had a hard time staying healthy. Once Calvin is back and healthy -- I have full faith in the Lions offense to turn it around. If the defense continues to play like it has. Detroit is going to be a very good football team.

Given the choice I prefer Stafford light. But if he could just find that middle ground I think he gets the figured it out handle from the talking heads.

IMO the Lions better be planning on playing with a banged up CJ or having him miss more time going forward. He is not going to cheat time like Steve Smith. Big guys just seem to get more beat up and don't last as long. Tate didn't look good but I think the Vikings had a game plan to make sure anyone but Tate can beat them.

If it was CJ's knee or back or something like that. I would worry more about him. An ankle isn't an age issue or anything like that. Those type of injuries just happen.

I think CJ will be fine now that he has had time to rest instead of being used as a decoy. We should have sat him a couple games ago

Tate is not ready to be the focal point for a defense. No-one else stepped up today like I was hoping. Riddick early then injury.

O line has to get better. Nowhere to go but up I think.

Stafford needs cj. Missing him and bush gives teams the ability to lock down tate and fuck with Stafford.

I am ready to see the Lions trade Broyles and a high pick for an opportunity lineman or two right now.

Pettigrew sucks. Bell is almost as bad.

Lions should be #1 in scoring and yards after this week.

This.

I actually saw receivers open often, Stafford was simply missing them for the most part today. He had a wide open a Ebron on a mid crossing pattern and missed him by a mile. Ebron had nothing but space in front of him.

I'm actually kind of glad our offense is getting a taste of things without CJ. Hopefully Lombardi learns from today in order to game plan for future games where CJ is out and teams key on Tate. It can only help everyone else grow. Right? :noidea:

Russel Wilson just had three terrible consecutive throws. No QB should ever through an incorporation.

Bell looked good running the ball today, that was nice to see since he hasn't been running well so far this year. He came out charged up in the second half...

I wish one of our WRs could catch a sideline pass like Terrance Williams did.
