Thoughts about the league after a 1/3rd of the season

There's parity in the NBA, finally. No team is a clear cut fav to win it all. I mean the warriors may still win it, but it's not clear cut as previous years. If my Sixers can land their hands on the other Morris twin from the wizards and if(and this is a big IF) Fultz comes back normal to sure up that defense against other guards, they would be the favs to come outta the east.

Not sure we can say they would be the favorites then, but you are spot on about the parity. The Warriors wild card is Cousins, if he comes back strong and Klay gets his shot right then they are big favorites again.

Mavs are performing better than most predicted.

Same with the Nuggets, to still be in first place even with two big starters injured speaks volumes about them.

Never going to happen. Too much money would be lost. Professional sports leagues are always looking for ways to add more games not less.

Money is why they made the playoffs longer. There was a time when the first round of the playoffs was 3 games.

Now, all playoff series are 7 games.

We're lucky that they aren't discussing adding more regular season games.

I am with you on this, but you gotta admit less games would be more exciting for the fans.

Actually in calendar terms it's not much longer than the NBA regular season. And the NBA playoffs are much longer.

NBA is the king of long ass seasons, mid October to mid June, 8 whole months.

The Western Conference is carrying the association. Other that a few bottom feeders, its loaded. Also hat's off to Greg Pop for what he is doing with the Spurs, he is doing some serious coaching right now. As of today 1 Jan 2019, the Spurs are only 1 game behind the Rockets for 1st place in the Southwest Division.
