QB Nick Johns decides to transfer from Virginia

Johns took to Twitter to announce that he has decided to leave the Cavaliers football program and transfer to an undetermined elsewhere. According to the quarterback, he was given an unrestricted release from his UVa. scholarship.

Minnesota losing DL Mose Hall to transfer

Mose Hall took to social media confirm a change in his current situation, announcing on Twitter that he has decided to transfer out of the Gophers football program. No reason was given for the defensive lineman’s departure.

Should Hall move on to another FBS program, he’d have to sit out the 2016 season. He’d then have three seasons of eligibility remaining beginning in 2017.

‘Sometime this week or next week,’ ex-Miami TE Jerome Washington should sign with Rutgers

Speaking to nj.com, Washington stated that, when it comes to officially signing with the Scarlet Knights, “[h]opefully it’s sometime this week or next week.” All indications are RU will send the required paperwork in short order to officially make Washington the newest member of first-year head coach Chris Ash‘s football program.

FSU student government requests ban on Native American headdresses at sporting events

“The 68th Student Senate does not condone the wearing of headdresses because it inaccurately depicts the culture of the Seminole Tribe,” a portion of the resolution read, adding that the Senate” requests inappropriate use of the materials as listed above, constitute a violation of the Student Code of Conduct.”

The website writes that “[h]eaddresses usually worn and seen by those at Florida State games are closer to those worn by the Plains region tribes, such as the Sioux, rather than those of the Seminole Tribe.”

The Longhorns linebacker took to Twitter Monday to announce that he has decided to leave UT and finish up his playing career elsewhere. The fifth-year senior will be leaving the ‘Horns as a graduate transfers, which means, of course, that he would be eligible immediately at another FBS program in 2016, his final season of eligibility.

On Instagram over the weekend, Abner Logan announced that he has decided to transfer out of the Terrapins football program. As Logan will be leaving the Terps as a graduate transfer, he would be eligible to play immediately in 2016 if his next destination is at the FBS level.

Kimbrow confirmed to Rivals.com earlier this week that he has walked away from the Middle Tennessee State football team. Not only that, but the running back has walked away from the sport, period.

James Pierre, three-star 2016 signee, given release from UNC

According to a report from 247Sports.com, 2016 signee James Pierre has been given a release from the National Letter of Intent he signed with UNC. The recruiting website reports that Pierre was denied admissions by the university, leading to his full release.

Because he has not attended any classes at UNC, Pierre would be eligible to play immediately at another FBS program. He’d then have the standard five years to use four seasons of eligibility.

RB Denzell Evans opts to transfer from Arkansas

Thursday, Bret Bielema confirmed that Denzell Evans plans to transfer out of his Razorbacks football program. No specific reason for the parting of ways was given.

The running back will remain enrolled in school until he graduates, then move on to an undetermined location. As Evans will be a graduate transfer, he’ll be eligible to play immediately if his new college football home plays at the FBS level.

On Twitter Wednesday, Jack Spicer announced that he has decided to transfer out of the Gators football program. Not only that, but Spicer announced that he will be joining Vogel by transferring into the Hurricanes program.

Leading returning tackler among three dismissed by Texas Tech

In a press release, Tech announced that three football players, sophomore offensive linemanRobert Castaneda, redshirt freshman offensive lineman Trace Ellison and sophomore linebacker Dakota Allen, have been dismissed from the football program by head coachKliff Kingsbury. The dismissals are “due to a failure to uphold student-athlete expectations.”

Former K-State S Kaleb Prewett appears headed to Mizzou

While the school has yet to announce it, Prewett’s Twitter profile now indicates that he is a member of the Missouri Tigers. “Former Kansas State safety. Current Mizzou safety,” the bio now reads.
