OSU announced Saturday that redshirt freshman offensive lineman Grant Schmidt has decided to leave the Buckeyes football program. Schmidt’s intention, per the school, is “transferring to play at another school,” although potential destinations aren’t immediately known.
Friday, Michigan State announced that defensive tackle Damon Knox will not be returning to the Spartans for a sixth season. The reason? The lineman has decided to pursue a career in the field of law enforcement.
Knox had been a participant in spring practice, so the decision to forego his final season of eligibility could be described as unexpected. Taking it even further, Knox was a projected starter heading out of the spring, so it’s a rather significant blow to MSU’s line on that side of the ball.
First reported by Chris Gervino of KOMUSports.com, Rivals.com subsequently confirmed that Ross has signed a financial aid agreement with Missouri and will play football for the Tigers. The apparent move comes a little over a week after Ross’ decision totransfer from Oklahoma was announced.
According to Sam Werner of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pitt quarterback Adam Bertke and receiver Jaquaun Davidson will both transfer.
On Tuesday, Memphis head coach Mike Norvell confirmed that running back Jarvis Cooper has decided to transfer out of his first-year program and continue his playing career elsewhere. Given Cooper’s production last season, that move would be noteworthy in and of itself.

Tuesday, UVa. welcomed Arizona State transfer Jack Powers into Mendenhall’s program. Powers had announced earlier this year that he would be transferring out of ASU to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
Powers is a grad transfer who will have two years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2016.
The Cavaliers also announced that Powers will be a defensive end for the Hoos. With the Sun Devils, Powers was a 6-6, 290-pound offensive tackle.

In a release Tuesday morning, Kansas State athletic director John Currie announced that Kill has been named as the associate athletic director for administration at the university. The school writes that Kill’s role will consist of being “a member of Currie’s senior departmental staff and serve as chief administrator for the K-State football program.”
Monday, WVU announced that head coach Dana Holgorsen has dismissed Thomas-Williams from the Mountaineers football program. Other than your standard “violation of unspecified team rules,” no reason for the dismissal was given.
In early March, Adrian Colbert took to Twitter to announce that he would betransferring to The U. A little over two months later, the former Texas defensive back isnow enrolled for the summer semester at the university and will begin working out with his new Hurricane teammates.

The quarterback had announced in the middle of last month that he would be transferring from Boise State.
In November of last year, Summers abruptly left the Tech football program during the season; six months later, Georgia Southern confirmed that the receiver has been admitted into grad school — a higher education Master’s program — and will play for the Eagles as a redshirt senior. The grad transfer will be playing his final season of college football in 2016.
