Maryland to hire Kentucky assistant Andy Buh as DC

Citing an unnamed source, Patrick Loney of Scout.com is reporting that Andy Buh is leaving Kentucky to take the coordinator job at Maryland. FOXSports.com‘s Bruce Feldman subsequently confirmed the initial report.

Monday evening, UK confirmed in a press release that Buh was leaving the program to take another coaching position.

‘Violations of team rules’ leads to Wolfpack pair exiting NC State

Over the weekend, it was reported that tight end Bryce Dixon (no, not THATBryce Dixon) is no longer on the team. Wednesday, Joe Giglio of the Raleigh News & Observer not only confirmed Dixon’s departure, but that of wide receiver Freddie Simmons as well.

As alluded to earlier, the twin departures weren’t exactly voluntary in nature.

WVU tabs Baylor grad assistant as new WRs coach

In a press release, WVU announced that Holgorsen has hired Tyron Carrier as his new wide receivers coach. Carrier replaces Lonnie Galloway, who left Morgantown in the middle of March tobecome the co-offensive coordinator at Louisville.

Ex-Florida QB Will Grier lands at West Virginia

Citing multiple sources close to the program, Travis Haney of ESPN.com is reporting that the former Florida quarterback will transfer to West Virginia. The move, which was subsequently made official by WVU, comes a couple of weeks after a tour of schools by Grier that reportedly included Miami of Florida and Ohio State.

Shoulder injuries push UCLA RB Steven Manfro to leave the game

The latest to be prematurely sidelined isSteven Manfro, the UCLA running back who confirmed to scvnews.com in a text message that he has decided to retire from football because of ongoing shoulder injuries. While the Bruins have not addressed the development, Manfro’s high school football coach also confirmed to theLos Angeles Daily News that his former player will be forced to walk away from the sport.
