Sure.....But it's seldom the key as to "am I interested?" It's always "at what cost?"

I think he is still owed a bunch of money but haven't looked yet. If so, that could potentially lower what it would take to get it done.

The only problem is he's owned by the same crazy organization who is asking for Gallo, Mazara, Profar, and several other guys for Sale. Sale is good, but he's not worth our entire farm.

Keep looking to see if a deal has been made. I hope something is done before we have to use one of our awesome #5 choices on Sunday.

Good article, Wastin. Still surprised how well we're doing in spite of this. Even with the blemish this puts on JD's reputation we have JD to thank for the Desmond signing.
Can't win em' all but in Desmonds case we certainly did.

ESPN mentions Rangers have interest in Vince Velasquez. No details cited. Anyone interested?

They are estimating that the qualifying offer this coming offseason will be $16.7 million. Do we risk that with Mitch? If not should we try to trade him now?

I would not offer him a QO. But I don't think his trade value is much.

Maybe he can be included in a pkg to get us a decent arm or two. Otherwise, I just as soon keep him and hope he can contribute for the rest of this season rather than just giving him away, b/c Mitch straight-up, ain't gonna get us squat.

I've stated before many times that the Rangers should absolutely trade Mitch Moreland this summer. Letting him walk for no return is dumb. Offering him a QO would be even dumber. Why on Earth would Mitch turn down the QO? He gets TRIPLE his 2016 salary.

EDIT: I should add that I don't think the Rangers should re-sign him either, because there's no place for him here anymore. And his production blows.

Nope, and Mitch won't bring anything in return.

Sure.... but probably not for the price. That said, the chance to have him shove against his former team 3-5 times a season would be a cherry on top.
