The Flames made a big trade with the Leafs in '92 - It took them 12 years to win a playoff round.

The Flames traded a Norris trophy nominated defenseman a couple of years ago and have yet to make the playoff since.

My advice is to steer clear when trading with Toronto.

Not necessarily "want" him, but if I trade some dead wood, I think it's only fair to take some back. :heh:

Well, when you put it like that, ok...lol

BTW - REPORTED for the "only fair" comment.

Now I don't know about that. Trading with the Leafs worked out pretty well for the Wings at the deadline in 97 and 98...

We got a 1st and 2nd Rounder for Vesa Tosgoala and Mark Bell.

Interesting side note.....in San Jose, after Mark Bell had his DUI hit and run in the summer, in his first game as a Shark he scored the GW'er (I believe in OT).....due to sponsors, it was the "Jack Daniels Shot of the Game".....

Fun Mark Bell fact: he has never been a plus player in any NHL season.

Dear BeeBee,

When YOU put those players together, and make a huge media issue of keeping those players together at the deadline (because "you like them"), then yes the responsibility for those players falls on you when they turn out to be a shit hockey team.
Your most common even strength line by a fair margin (17.2% of the time, next combo is at 10.4%) has featured tyler bozak. He's having a career year, on pace for 52 pts. let that sink in for a moment.
In summary, you suck as a GM. And in the nations biggest hockey market, you may take some heat for that. To paraphrase Dr Recchi - suck it up princess.
