Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) promo:
Ok, just rewatched the trailer yesterday and upon further consideration, it looks better than I first considered. Still not completely sold, but I’m cautiously looking forward to itJust saw the trailer on Prime yesterday and I have to say I’m feeling a bit disappointed. Hope I’m wrong.
the myrddraal looked cool though
That is never a good sign.Mat Cauthon has been recast from Barney Harris to Donal Finn for season 2; reason why is unknown
Shadowspawn promo:
LOL...I hear ya on the repetitiveness thingy. At least we know they won't likely pull the same stunt with the movie dialogue.I knew of people excited for this, but I just assumed it would be like the Sword of Truth or Shannara TV shows. But just recently found out they're spending as much per episode of this show as they were for the last couple seasons of GoT. You can see they have a pretty big vfx/cgi budget with the Myrddraal just in the trailer, but I'm just glad that it'll have a higher level of finishing than the two other shows I mentioned or a Hurcules or Xena type show. Hopefully none of that Soap Opera/home video feel that those shows had.
I'm still not sure I'll watch though. I read pretty much every book from #3 on within weeks or at least months of them being released, and usually reread the whole series sequentially every time to get ready. I was as big of a fan as there was... at one point. It really tailed off for me at the end and then I HATED Sanderson's books that finished everything (although I doubt anyone could have done better.) But a couple year ago I had a coworker who was reading the series for the first time and he was just so excited and enthusiastic that it got me to buy the whole series digitally and I was going to read the whole thing for the first time in probably over 10 years. I got like 50 pages in and Egwene had called the boys woolheads like 17 times. The boys had each thought to themselves that they wished they understood girls as well as the other 2 friends did at least 23 times. And Nyneave had pulled her braid a minimum of 46 times. I just couldn't continue knowing how many more hundreds of times these things were going to take up space on a page going forward. I'd rather punch myself in the dick that read those things constantly repeating thousands of times.
