His talents are being wasted on that crap team. They should trade him to some contender for their entire draft and then start over. The shelf life of an NFL RB is jus too short to not think like this. They should get all they can for him while he's still a valuable commodity. And give AP the chance to win something. He's not going to win crap in Minnesota.

He was the only reason they made the playoffs last season, but that's actually not a bad idea - provided some team is willing to give up all of that for him

The Dolphins will gladly take him  We can't run the ball or protect Tannehill right now. AP would be a HUGE addition that would instantly make us a true playoff team.

Who, do tell, would trade their entire draft for a 28-year old RB? I mean, besides the Vikes themselves.

They need a legit starting QB, somebody they can build around AP with. Unfortunately they may not be bad enough to land Bridgewater in next years draft, they added Jennings, their defense is not that bad. Though Allen will most likely leave, still have AP. Just need a QB.

Hmm. Richardson went for a 1st rounder. What does that make AP worth? 2 1sts, and a few other picks maybe.

A solid veteran laden team that with AP could become a real SB contender. Dallas. San Diego. New England. NY Jets. I might even say Green Bay but there's no way the Vikings trade with them.

If I'm the Broncos I would try and move Knowshon Moreno and a bunch of 1st rounders for AP

I think you risk losing credibility with the locker room and earning the "asshole" team among the players if the Vikings trade Peterson.

I thought about the donkeys but they already have an offense most defenses can't even slow down. They need help on the defensive side of the ball so they can get a stop once in a while.

Sorry bro. Your team sucks and is on a fast track to nowhere. By the time that ship is righted AP will be a broken down has been. May already be happening:

Adrian Peterson of Minnesota Vikings dealing with hamstring issue - ESPN

Currently he's 7th in rushing. Maybe I'm already overrating his value. Like I said, the shelf life for an NFL RB is just too short and AP may be near the end of his. If he stays with the Vikings he'll have played his last best days with a team going nowhere. Shame.

Why? He's not talking about Fantasy - he's strictly saying he thinks the Vikings should trade AP

I am pretty sure he is implying that it is such a ridiculous idea to trade Peterson that the thread belongs to a forum where it would be more effectually topical.

Idk think there will be anymore Herschel Walker trades, or deals like the Saints did for Rickey Williams.

That said, with the trade return expectations tempered, I agree more than I disagree. I'm thinking you get a 1st, and 6th, maybe 1st and 3rd the following year at best.

But just how far away are the Vikings?

Is Freeman the answer at QB? Maybe, maybe not. They had a really good draft, got the big OT in '12, adding Patterson to Greg Jennings...Rudolph is a decent TE. MIN is not the JAX Jags, they will win too many games to get Bridgewater, but will probably be picking top 10 with Patterson. W/o him maybe top 5.

Yeah, I do it especially if my intent is to draft a QB high, but who will give up a #1 for him? As good as AP is I can't rattle off many teams off the top of my head.
