It just seems like it's a tough matchup for Isner. And Kolschreiber is a decent player.

Just one of those things.

With that said, I hope Isner conquers him at the USO one year.

It's not like Isner is losing to an unranked or wildcard player.

I agree with all of this but the most frustrating thing for John is that Kohlschreiber beat him at his game. It's not like he was breaking Isner serve. He beat Isner in 3 TB sets which is John's bread and butter.

Kohlschreiber is an underachiever. He has way more talent then what his accomplishments would suggest. It never surprises me when he takes out a high ranked player.

It also does not surprise me when Isner loses when he probably should not. I don't think he wants it bad enough to be a champion. He seems satisfied to make a living as a pro player and that's it.

BTW Isner is 4-0 vs Kohlschreiber outside of New York.

He really had a poor summer outside of that title in Atlanta which didn't have any top players.

Very disappointing year for him IMO.

His bright spots were 2 titles (with all the big guns missing), SF at Indy Wells, & round of 16 at the French
