my hatred for MY team clouds my judgement
The agent for Nicklas Jensen says the Canucks’ top prospect has a plane ticket to fly from Denmark to Chicago on Friday and could be playing for the AHL Wolves as early as this weekend.
Jensen, who’s from Herning, Denmark, just finished his season with AIK Stockholm of the Swedish Elite League and will report to the Canucks farm club, said agent Anton Thun.
“We have him booked to go to Chicago on Friday directly from Denmark,” said Thun of the Canucks’ first-round pick (29th overall) in 2011. “He feels great. He’s ready to go.”
Jensen, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound winger, joined the Wolves last season following his season with the OHL Oshawa Generals, but had to pack in when he suffered a concussion early in the Wolves’ AHL playoffs. He scored six goals in eight AHL games, including a hat-trick.
The Wolves are in Milwaukee on Friday and then home to the Admirals on Saturday before taking on visiting Rockford on Sunday afternoon.
“He won’t play Friday but I wouldn’t’ be surprised if he plays Saturday,” said Thun.
Thun said Jensen — who turned 20 on Wednesday — is able to go directly to the AHL because an agreement with Oshawa ownership last summer has released him from the OHL club.
But Oshawa GM Jeff Twohey – who was hired after Jensen departed last summer — said Wednesday the OHL club still has him on its protected list.
