There's a lot of blame to go around including the players. As some have said, the FO over valued the starters and relievers on the staff.

As I try to talk myself into regaining enthusiasm in the 60-56 Phils, I see the Nats are only 7 games over .500, a measly game and a half ahead. WTF. I can't quit now.

However, reality can suck. With 44 games to go, even playing .545, 24-20, gets them an unexciting 84-78. It would take improbable, dramatic changes to see either of these two results:
.590, 26-18 = 86-76
.636, 28-16 = 88-74

It is so sad to say but true the Phillies have been out managed and out GM'd by the Mets. We all could see that they needed upgrades at starting pitching and real bullpen help but the FO did nothing. Phil's went from 1st to 4th and we could see it coming so why couldn't they.

KRod ripped him for bad management last night. The team needs a top flight baseball guy to manage. If we miss the post this year I hope the FO has the guts to dump him. Especially after being dealt with a bad pitching core, his poor strategic game moves or non-moves and upside down lineups make the team even worse.

YA have to have a flippin clue how to use all those computer generated stats in the context of the game and the talent you do or don't have have. Kapler has proven time and time again he simply is an idiot securing a paycheck as a National league manager. He doesn't know much of anything about how to develop a championship caliber ball club. Join nothing between the ears!
