NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Redskins have decided they will not trade franchise player Kirk Cousins.

"He is not going anywhere," said RapSheet. "They decided that they are not going to trade him to the 49ers." The Redskins giving off the impression that they won't deal Cousins increases their leverage, but Rapoport seems convinced Cousins is indeed off the trade block. If so, the 49ers may have to turn to a band-aid veteran like Brian Hoyer or Matt Schaub. The free agent signal-caller market is all but barren, and no respected draft analysts believe any quarterback in this year's class is worthy of the No. 2 overall pick.

Shocker! I, and many others, have been telling you this since you started that crazy notion a few months back.

Dean - watch this & pay attn. These are NFL HOFers who I believe know a little about the game. They make a very good case that if the Redskins move on from Cousins that they are going to have a very, very hard time finding a decent replacement. That moron Bayless has to chime in & basically represents all of the anti-Cousins idiots - I guess that he is good comic relief. This is the same clown that railed against LaBron for years - he is a true moron.

You apparently side with Bayless - too bad.

New report Redskins wanting RG3 type deal for Cousins

Wow - not referring to this stupid report but the fact that you didn't actually start a new thread with this info.

But you must remember that Sty has gone from (over time mind you) Kirk should be traded at the earliest possible time (2012-2014) to Kirk shouldnt be starting because of injury(2015) to we should make him play on the tag and prove himself (2016) to, I hope we keep him... but this guy would be better.

Country has always been luke warm on Kirk at best.

So a few posters who have been luke warm to oh dear we should NOT pay him that much because he isnt really Aron Rogers after all.....

I have always agree with Dean about the KC issue. Okay we used the non exclusive tag on KC hoping he signs a LTD. Still not convinced KC is our future QB. Why b/c he needs to win some big games and some playoff games. Essentially lead this team to the super bowl. The Giant's game was the final nail in the coffin for me. I am still fuming from that game. I have loss confidence in this young man simply put. Five yrs of OTA's, preseason games and countless film sessions and he makes that bone headed play (INT) on first down to make it worst. Don't care how many TD's, top 10 QB, most yds etc, KC needs to show me he has that it factor. But all in all if KC proves me wrong , I'm okay with that b/c I just want my Skins to win and that's what matters most to me.

Maybe. Maybe not. Even if he wants to stay (which I'm not sure of), if he holds out, it may make the FO cough up an offer that is to KC's liking sooner rather than later. IF he doesn't want to stay, then the FO needs to trade him now as he will be gone in 2018. Get what we can for him now. His trade value is as high right now as it will be. Once FA and the draft happens, many QB needy teams will have filled out their roster and used up most of their cap space.

I realize he said he would sign it and he probably will. But if, in fact, he wants out, then he shouldn't sign it right away.

Oh, and if he plays under the tag again this year, he is gone next year, transition tag or not. They are not going to give him guaranteed $34M next year and my bet he will feel so disrespected that he can't wait to hit FA and leave if they can't work out a deal this year.
