Helms deal is a reminder of what Burrows is gonna get in 2013-14

DET Helm gets 4-years/$8.5 million. More $ than #Canucks Burrows. Helm has 32 career goals. Burrows had a 35-goal season

saw this stat yesterday: Burrows' is the 10th most efficient (goals per sixty) NHL scorer over the past 5 seasons

Josh Harding wants a multi-year deal from the Wild...If I were the Jets, I'd let Pavelec go to the KHL and try to sign Harding.

Someone tweeted this:

Darren Helm 4 years $8.5 million. David Jones 4 years $16 million. Does Colorado even have a GM?

I'm really curious to see what the Matt Duchene number is going to be.
They are setting the bar awfully high considering they basically have an entire team to sign.
(Jones $4m, Stastny $6.6m... just crazy)

Yeah...they've backed themselves into a corner there. I mean...they don't *have* to sign him. Or Landeskog. It's cool just you know, giving them to a Western PA based team.

I don't have a problem with the Colorado salary structure, onwards and upwards gentlemen!

Who is the Schultz that I keep seeing in rumors. It can't be Jeff, as he is not a FA.

Justin Schultz is a young defenseman from Wisconsin, who has spurned Anaheim and is being courted by several teams (Edmonton, Vancouver and others).

Justin. Stud d-man for the University of Wisconsin Badgers. Good friend of Leafs blueliner Jake Gardiner. Drafted by the Ducks and refuses to sign with them and instead is using a clasue in the CBA to become an UFA. Wants to play in Canada (not sure why anybody would chose Edmonton over Anaheim during the winter months). Thinks he's already a top pairing d-man and wants to play the corresponding minutes.

as much as I love Helm I wish we could have gotten him under 2/year.

he was only making 900K on his last contract. he was at least going to get double that to 1.8 mil. i don't think a 300K difference is going to matter much since the cap has gone up so much each year. plus, i think this could turn out to be a bargain contract in a couple years. i think that's what kenny is banking on in signing him for 4 years.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie

According to Finnish sports weekly @Veikkajaa and @vrantanen Teemu Selanne has decided to play one more year. Sounds good to me.
