I've read Isles

No no no, the Pens are sending Martin there. (Yes, I am ignoring the fact that Martin has a NTC and turned down the Isles offer for more money in FA two years ago.)

the Canucks have qualified the contract of goalie Cory Schneider - momentsago.
Schnieder's agent Mike Liut tells CKWX he will meet with the Canucks in Pittsburgh this week to talk contract.
If no deal with the Canucks and Schnieder - the 2 sides can file for arbitration July 5th and 6th.

Canucks have also just qualified the contract of forward Dale Weise. Agent Allain Roy just confirmed.

Stuart agrees to 3 year contract with Sharks at $3.6 per. Takes less to sign with a team that's a good fit.

That's Cory Sarich money...

/of course, Stuart is significantly better than Sarich.

I was hoping it would be closer to 3/per but I'll take it, I think we could see Douglas Murray (or maybe Demers) dealt at the draft now.

I wouldn't mind taking Demers on the Sens.

What do Sharks fans figure would be the asking price for Jason?

Todd McLellan will be back behind the Sharks bench...

Sharks general manager Doug Wilson has officially announced that Todd McLellan will return next season as coach.

Wilson said McLellan and the coaching staff were still being evaluated shortly after the Sharks were knocked out of the playoffs in the first round by the St. Louis Blues.

While there were no indications that McLellan would not be back for a fifth season in San Jose, there was no public announcement until Monday. McLellan said he could be making changes to his staff and had a list of potential assistants he wanted to talk to.

Wilson said the major change he wanted from the team was going from one that was "passive and reactive" to one that would be "aggressive and proactive" next season.

I am hearing the New York Islanders are interested in Douglas Murray of the San Jose Sharks. Murray has one more year left at 2.5M.

Picks and/or prospects, most likely. If Wilson moves one of the NHL caliber dmen it will be to open up a spot for Stuart so picks or a forward prospect.

If we were looking for an NHL body, depth guy is what we would be looking for, bottom six grinder who can PK and hit would be ideal.

I'm a lot higher on Jason Demers than most on the Sharks board (and Sharks fans in general), so I'd want him to stay. He played really well with Vlasic 2 seasons ago and they were our top shutdown d-pairing going into the playoffs. He would have been great help against the speed of the Canucks. He can hit, make a good outlet pass and play physically in front of his net. He's just been prone to bad pinches and some brain farts in his own zone.

I don't know enough about the Senators prospects to speculate on a trade.

That wouldn't surprise me one bit. After signing Stuart, Murray is a really expensive 5th/6th defenseman at $2.5M. He's a great guy and an honest player, it's just that his hard-hitting style is catching up with him. He'd make great protection though for some of the Isles young forwards. He's supposedly good in the locker room too. I wish him well wherever he goes.

Another tweet from Dreger...

Pavelec is pending RFA with a big $ offer from KHL. It will take $4mil multi years to keep him in NHL. Pay or trade him...Jets only options.
