I remember very well Elster's year. He hadn't really played in about 4 years and it was his best year of his career. Go figure. Juan Gone, Palmer and Pudge all had great years. Our pitching was our achilles heal.

I went to our first home playoff game that year. Oliver pitched his heart out, but our late innings guys failed us. We went out and signed Wetteland that next off season. I remember Oliver had been a great closer candidate, and they decided he was needed in the rotation that year, and that left us without a good closer.

Burkett pitched great the first game of the series to give us our only win. Palmer made a bad throw late in the second game that helped cost us that game.
