Same 7-9 bullshit Fisher spoke about on Hardknocks.
OP thought they were a .500 team with a journeyman QB that could play as efficiently as he did yesterday, only to be let down by an injury-depleted defense? Wow, what insight!
Either that or he's a butthurt St. Louisian...
Michael GOFF will save them though!!!! It's Michael right? Mike... No it's Jerry. Jer..... Jer-ry... OH GOT IT!
JIM MOFF WILL SAVE THEM THOUGH!!!
Word. Fisher is a joke. He should be coaching pee-wee
I'd love to see him gone. He did his job, getting the Rams out of their run of terrible seasons, but now the Rams need a new voice to get them out the 7-9 rut.
There is nothing wrong with being bitter that St. Louis got cheated out of an NFL team.
However, that doesn't change the fact that the Rams are a heaping pile of shit and for some reason LA is excited to inherit that heaping pile of shit.
See, most of the league doesn't thing .500 is a heaping pile of shit. The loss yesterday can be brought down to essentially 3 4th down plays. The Rams failed theirs (and gave away 3 pts as a result), and the Lions succeeded on both of theirs, leading to points on the board.
The Rams, for some reason, are using an unconventional defensive alignment with only 2 LBs. It plays to the strengths of the roster when the starters are healthy, but they don't have depth to support it once injuries occur. Last week, they were missing 3/4 of the D-line and lost their #1 corner during the game. Hayes and Brockers returned this week, although Brockers re-aggravated his injury and Joyner left in the 4th with a forearm injury. No Quinn or Tru.
Personally, I'd like to see both Fisher and Gregg Williams gone (and the OC of course) at the end of the season. They need a less conservative offense and a more conventional defense IMO.
He does deserve credit from bringing them out of sucktitude but arguably that took place when they drafted Bradford. Remember, they were 7-9 before he got there.
Not having a winning season for what..13 years is a heaping pile of shit.
Sure, but then followed by 2-14. The previous regimes were painfully bad in the draft (with a few exceptions) and free agency. 3-13, 2-14, 1-15, 7-9, 2-14, then Fisher/Snead took over: 7-8-1, 7-9, 6-10, 7-9. Bradford was only fully healthy (16 games) for that rookie 7-9 and the 7-8-1 in Fisher's first season.
...and it all started with Dick Vermeil retiring. Martz never should've been more than an OC, as he couldn't run a team to save his life, and the succession of GMs destroyed any depth in the roster by drafting horribly.
The years under Fisher have been mediocre, a quantum leap above the previous heaping pile of shit.
