I went to church today.

Very nice. I think I will be going back weekly with the family.
Will it eventually be ..

Wake and bake, then lurch in church?

JK, but have any of y'all been buzzed at church?

I ask because I've just got this feeling somebody in the fam has a story to be told.

Either way, that scenario gotta be a buzz kill, no matter how you slice it.

Good job. I don't have any problem with people who do . My best friend growing up smoked every day and we are still tight. But I think people should treat it like wine and partake once in a while.

Haven't smoked weed in 2 weeks. Just haven't had a desire. ^^^

It's been 15 years for me. Smoked it basically daily for over a decade. Knew growers so it was cheap for me back then. Don't miss it at all.

I do admit now that it is legal here I will likely end up going to a pot store at some point just out of curiosity and would likely end up at least trying pot laced food or something, but I can't see me smoking it ever again. After also quitting cigs 13 years ago I'd be afraid I would cough up a nut.

Keep up the good work. Your kids deserve to have the best example and most complete dad they can have.

Good job Mamba!

As far as the church buzz thing for me, well lets say I tipped a few too many :suds:in the wee hours of an occasional Sat Nite/Sun Morn and then took the happy family to the 8 am Services that morning.

Dude, it was rough feeling & looking like Hell amongst all those folks feeling & seeking Heaven!

Don't drink a whole lot anymores but when the kids were young, bro's nite out would bite me in the ass every now and then.

Only time I go to church is for the occasional wedding or funeral. Good on ya' Mambe if the church route feels good for you. Though I could have taught you that homily without having to sit through a sermon. Guessing I am the only P12er here who is ordained and an atheist. :)

Wiz I gave up the weed about a decade ago, but I only smoked when I had insomnia. How did you give up the cigs? I have been trying for 10 years. The longest I seem to make it is 6 months.

Pot was the same for me. I had bad insomnia most of my childhood through my 20's. A lot of that time I smoked it it was just enough to put me into a good sleep at night. Age has caught up to me and now sleeping isn't nearly the struggle.

Quit smoking cigs when my wife got preg with my daughter. I wanted her to quit smoking for the health of our child and I wasn't going to be doing it myself.

Took me 2 weeks to quit and I never ever had a craving after. Was a pack a day plus smoker for 15 years.

Anyone can quit smoking if they have the motivation and confidence. It really is that simple. Lack either and there is no way you are going to quit.

My method was aversion therapy. Well sort of. Didn't spend a dime on gum, patches, or meds. I had read somewhere that if you simply stopped feeding the cravings when you really wanted one, but made yourself smoke when you didn't want one that it would cure you of the cravings. It worked like a charm for me. I didn't smoke the after meal, after sex, etc ones that always satisfied so much. Any time I felt like I didn't want one I made myself smoke one. By the second week I was down to a couple a day or so and I was hating them. Last drag I took I nearly puked and said that's it.

I worried about going to bars and other places I smoked heavily and was nervous a few times, but never had cravings to smoke again and haven't missed it a day since then.

I know the method sounds dumb, but it did work for me and I still say it was more about my motivation to do it for my wife and child than it was the method.

Good luck.

Cougs preview their $61 million new football operations center.

10256910_482508495184186_6703276104601804175_n.jpg

The building was made possible by the Pac-12’s lucrative television contract, which will pay the Cougars an average of $20.5 million a year for 12 years.

The team will move into its new building, which is located behind one of the end zones, in mid-July.

This continues an upward trend for Washington State, which has the smallest stadium and remotest campus in the Pac-12. Last year the Cougars built a new press box with luxury boxes. The year before they hired coach Mike Leach.

Moos and his staff toured six programs when the new building was in the design phase — Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and LSU. They cherry picked the best features of the buildings they saw. Everything in the 84,000-square foot building is bigger and better than before, from the laundry room to the equipment room.

NFL.com names who they believe are the nations "toughest" players in college football. 3 are PAC players.

14 Tim Edmond, RB, Ohio
13 Kyshoen Jarrett, SS, Virginia Tech
12 Brandon Scherff, OT, Iowa
11 Karl Joseph, FS, West Virginia
10 Karlos Williams, RB, Florida State
9 James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh
8 Shaq Thompson, LB, Washington
7 Denzel Perryman, LB, Miami (Fla.)
6 Jared Tevis, SS, Arizona
5 Derrick Mathews, LB, Houston
4 Serderius Bryant, LB, Mississippi
3 Myles Jack, LB/RB, UCLA
2 Keenan Reynolds, QB, Navy
1 Nate Terhune, NT, Kent State

Shaq Thompson, LB, Washington
Particulars: 6-2, 231, junior
Buzz: He was considered the No. 1 safety and one of the top five prospects overall nationally in the 2012 recruiting class, but he hasn't played that position with the Huskies. Instead, he started every game at nickel back as a true freshman in 2012, showing off his coverage skills, then gained 20 pounds and moved to linebacker last season. He should vie for All-Pac-12 honors this fall at linebacker, and he also expects to see time at running back; he showed well at that position in limited action in spring practice. Thompson was a standout baseball player in high school in Fresno, Calif., and played rookie ball in the Boston Red Sox organization before his freshman year at Washington.

Jared Tevis, SS, Arizona
Particulars: 5-10, 195, senior
Buzz: Tevis began his career as a hometown walk-on and has developed into one of the most productive -- and biggest-hitting -- safeties in the Pac-12. He was bothered by a badly sprained ankle in 2012, his first season as a starter, but still managed to play in 11 games and finish third on the team with 82 tackles; he also forced four fumbles. Last season, he missed two games with a knee injury but again managed to finish third on the team in tackles, with 82, and he forced three fumbles. Tevis should contend for all-league honors this fall.

Myles Jack, LB/RB, UCLA
Particulars: 6-1, 230, sophomore
Buzz: That he is on this list should surprise no one who follows college football. He plays linebacker and running back -- and at a high level -- for the Bruins. This isn't going two ways in high school; this is going two ways -- and at a high level -- in the Pac-12. That's, uh, tough to do. He was the league's offensive and defensive freshman of the year last season, doling out punishment as a runner and as a tackler.

Some recruiting bits:

5-star DL Kahlil McKenzie says he is down to 2 choices for the schools he will commit too. Tennessee and Arizona. While many are predicting he will choose Tennessee as his dad played there, it's impressive that Zona is his other final choice. He says he will announce his decision at "The Opening" football camp that will be taking place at the Nike HQ (July7-10). Many recruits are now using this event to announce their commitments, so expect a few more big gets for PAC schools that week.

There is a lot of talk that the Ducks are attempting to flip Notre Dame commit, 4-star QB Blake Barnett (Corona, CA) who recently visited Oregon. Barnett is one of the Top5 dual threat QBs for the 2015 class and has been committed to ND since last Nov. Oregon's now much thinner at QB depth with Jake Rodrigues and Damion Hobbs transferring out. Notre Dame's QB depth is thicker so Oregon could have a realistic shot at this.
If the Ducks can't work this flip sooner than later, expect them to make Travis Waller (Anaheim, CA) their 2015 class QB.

5-star DE Canton Kaumatule (Honolulu, HI) is considered one of the top DE prospects in the nation. He's got offers from major programs all over the US, including ND, Okla, and A&M, but as for PAC schools Washington, USC, Oregon, and Stanford are all pursuing him hard. Stanford is now looking like a lock for him.

Zona and ASU continue with the trend of filling out their classes early. Also displays some of the recruiting tendencies of both coaches. RichRod puts a lot of emphasis on California and Arizona recruits. Todd Graham as well, but he seems to be working the Texas, Louisiana, and other southern states pipelines heavily as well.
Zona landed a commit from WR/TE Jamie Nunley (Murrieta, CA). That makes 8 commits for Zona so far.
ASU landed a commit from WR Alfred Smith (Destrehan, LA). That makes 7 commits for ASU so far.

Well that didn't take long......

Quarterback Blake Barnett has decommitted from Notre Dame.

The nation's No. 65 overall player has informed 247Sports of his decision to re-open his recruitment.

"I'm no longer committed to Notre Dame and I have opened up my recruitment," Barnett said.

Tennessee, Alabama and numerous others have offered Barnett and remain in the hunt for a quarterback in this class.

With Barnett back on the market, his recruitment could skyrocket in terms of new offers.
