ok, if you want a selfish reason to want to pull for WSU consider how much more they are going to want that apple cup than normal if a bowl berth is on the line? I'm not saying they won't want to kick our asses anyway, but they will be playing with total abandon and desperation if they don't beat Utah.

I WANT them to be at their best when we play. Sark better have the kids ready!

Frankly I've never hated WSU. They aren't now, and never have been, our true rivals because they have almost never been good. Oregon has been our true rival since they started improving. SC was our most hated team in the 80's and 90's as they were the only team that opposed us during our run. WSU is the team you want to beat in the AC so you have something over them for the next year, but many old dawgs don't hate them. I have family and friends who were cougs. It's always fun to pick on them, but I don't feel the need to root against them outside of the AC. Well that and having to be in a better bowl on those few years when they actually reach one.

I have friends and family that are both Cougs and Ducks. So what. I've spent 7 years of my life in Coug country and 7 more in purgatory (Oregon). I'll never root for either team.


...oh, and I just like the mormons better as well.

Fair enough. And no, there isn't a case in which I would ever pull for Oregon to beat anyone. We have hated Oregon despite their doormat status since at least the 50's and there is no reason to change that any time soon. You want to hate on WSU? By all means go for it. I am always amused at how much hate they throw our way. I just laugh at it. It's like a little brother trying to assert himself on you. It's cute more than something that angers me.

You have to understand that IC rivalries still exist. Apple Cup Wash vs Wash St, Civil War game Oregon vs OR St, AZ vs ASU, etc. As far as OR St, they've scheduled tough ooc every year since coach Riley took over in '98. The last 2 years have been the only schedules to take on 1 cupcake. Nichols St was to be the opener last year as a warm up to Wisconsin the 2nd week. This year, Hawaii was to be the cupcake, even though they're an FBS (Beavs beat them), they're actually worse than the opener E Wash Univ (FCS) that OR St lost to. Even though schools and fans east of the Mississippi think the MWC non-AQ scools are weak, they're never easy and PAC schools often schedule Boise St, Fresno St, etc for ooc games. OR St has only beaten Boise St once. Oregon has not beaten them yet.

Since 1986 there have been 7 meetings between Oregon State and Boise State. Beavers are 4-3 against the Broncos.

Looks like the long term forecast for Sat nite will be dry and somewhat cool from what I hear. Ball will be hard as a rwak and I see TO's coming from both squads. And don't these PAC games come down to who has the fewest TOs in the gamer wins?

Lots to talk about this week as me Beavers are "spiraling" down the toilet like a turd in need of flushing. I think we "clog" the toilet bowl up this week and right the ship before the Civil in 2 weeks.

Hope Price plays, but #12 didn't look to bad last weekend, so don't fear the unknown Doggie fans. Gawd knows me Beavs have had their fill of mobile QBs and the new guy looks to me like he has a set of wheels with a nice touch on his throwing arm too.

A fight for PAC NORRIS third place on the line or close to it I spose.

Should be a good game.

Not sure if you realize this or not but Cougs and Huskies are in the "same country" There as many Coug grads as Husky grads in the Puget Sound.
