Later today, 3 star OT Mason Walter (Temecula, CA) also committed to ASU. That 6 Olineman to the PAC in just a couple days.

Looks like Oregon and ASU got that section of their classes pretty much done for 2015.

ASU whiffed on o-linemen last class so they probably still need 2-3 more with at least one being from JC.

Doesn't surprise me. USC has generally always treated schollies like they were 4 year deals anyway. This just makes it official. Glad they're doing this.

Should help even more with recruiting too.

I doubt it helps that much.

Only reason Oregon is listed above UW on this is their bandwagon fans right now.

If you just compare the venue themselves there is simply no comparing the two. Husky stadium hands down and it isn't close.

Oregon and USC are getting credit for the atmosphere they add. Not really sure that USC adds much these days outside of the hot chicks that go, but hell the zona teams probably out do them on that as well.

Once Oregon isn't the top team anymore their stadium will drop down that list rapidly. Book it.

Not sure how Tailgating works into the equation but tailgating in Tempe sucks, hot girls or no - its just too hot to get together around the stadium.

Good point, although I don't really see that as too much of an issue, even if it's a schollie awarded to a junior. We usually have at least a couple of transfers almost every season, so that frees up a schollie or 2 each season as well (although we may see fewer transfers now that 4 year guaranteed schollies are a matter of policy).

If memory serves, I don't think we had any situations where a walk-on was granted a scholarship as a junior and then lost it the following season until the sanctions. I believe that Kiffin did it once (maybe twice) because it was the only way to fit a top recruit in with the schollie reductions.

Yes, it was the Kiffin situation I was thinking of. I know he caught a lot of flack for pulling the walk-ons scholarship also. Maybe that was the only time.

Agree somewhat Boise.

It's too bad you have to say "when they are good" their stadium is awesome.

But that is the case. We out west just don't have that Midwest and southern cfb passion throughout the states like they do.

But I will say it, when WSU and OSU are playing competitive football, they are fantastic venues. Small, not the fanciest stadium.... But they as you probably well know they can be good stadiums.

Same with a lot of the PAC. Lately, most Oregon games at opponents home stadiums are pretty lively since the Ducks are not liked and winning for a few years.

Yes, I have been to games at Resser and Martin Stadium, Mamba. And I agree that out West the interest in football just isn't the same. Hell, I originally come from what I consider to be a football town and Boise can't even sell out their 38,000 stadium consistently (although the gameday atmosphere is pretty dang good). Part of that is because good to great teams rarely go there for reasons that we've talked about for years and the IC schedule is weak for the most part, but still.....

It's so funny to me though when I'm flipping through games on a Saturday. I'll change it from a Pac 12 game to a SEC game for instance and have to immediately ratchet down the volume. It's so damn loud! The stadium and often even the cameras are shaking. Then I flip it back to the Pac game and have to dial the volume back up. Outside of an Oregon or Washington home game, it's so quiet you can hear a pin drop! No one gives a shit. They're just kind of there.

Really?!? According to Greg Biggins (National recruiting analyst for scout.com and Fox Sports, on Monday morning a top recruit referred to the announcement as a "game changer" and Biggins also said that he had already spoken to several families that were enthused by USC's announcement.

Your no.1 thing as a parent is, you want security for your kid, Biggins said. It's a genius move by Pat Haden. Other schools were doing it but not publicizing it. Now it looks like USC is the first. From a parent's standpoint, now you have security for your kid./quote]

I'm pretty sure that it's the only time it happened and even then, it was because of the sanctions. I doubt that even Kiffin would have done it if not for the sanctions.

Seems to me someone can't deal with facts. The view from Husky stadium is unrivaled. Nothing else in the Pac is even close. That's truth. Sorry if you don't agree, but objectively everyone else not in Oregon would.

11 years? That's all? :laugh3: I've been going there for nearly 40 years. I know full well what that base is.

Oregon? Didn't have anything like this before their little run. If you can't admit that you are delusional. Pure and simple. Every fanbase gets wagon jumpers when they are doing well. Every single one of them. If you are denying yours are as well I'm just going to sit here and laugh at you.

I agree with much of this. I know folks in other regions don't like hearing it, but there are a lot of other things to do out here besides watch a team lose. The weather out here enables folks to do thing year round that folks in many other parts of the country can't.

The good thing about that is that teams are almost forced to try and be successful because they know people have other things to do besides spend money to watch a bad team.

The bad thing about it is that it feeds the "bandwagon" reputation that fans have been saddled with out here.

Once again, I am happy to offer my objective observer services to settle this debate. I require a round trip airline ticket, ticket to the game and all I can eat and drink at a tailgate party. Once I have been to both venues, I will happily announce the winner right here on the SportsHoopla.:suds:

Winner Oregon. After all you would be tailgating with me and my crew.

Hell, we may not even make it inside Autzen and you would say "winner! MAMBA!"

And that's a fact Jack!

I have not been to Husky Stadium. My folks went and watched Boise get destroyed out there last year. They said the view, the atmosphere, etc. was nothing short of amazing.

The only game I've seen at Autzen was in 2008 when Boise played them. Things got away from Oregon very quickly in that game, but up until that point that place was rocking in the early going. Loud as all Hell and a pretty bitchin' atmosphere.

Some other Pac Stadiums I've been to are Resser and Martin. And I've been to several USC, UCLA, U of Eh, and ASU home games now that I live in Phoenix. More than I can count.

I don't know about way too high, but 5th seems a bit too high (unless we're getting credit for the coming upgrades). Maybe 7th. Also, Stanford seems low and UCLA seems a bit high as well. Outside of the Rose Bowl is pretty cool (tailgating on a golf course), but inside the stadium isn't that great.

Rose Bowl is incredibly cool from a historic perspective and just to be there and soak it in. From a modern convenience and comfort perspective its a dump plain and simple. In my opinion the stadium doesn't hold the crowd noise very well either so its tough for the crowd to impact the game substantially.

I was thinking about it and I have been to at least one stadium in every major conference except the B1G (got lucky with the Rose Bowl). I've seen Wisconsin's stadium in Madison but other than that I haven't even been to a B1G campus for any event. Probably need to do something about that at some point.

The Rose Bowl doesn't hold the crowd noise well? I agree it's layed out poorly for that anyway as it is all basically one level and really is a dump. Not quite as big of a dump as the Coliseum, but a dump nonetheless.

But what crowd noise are you referring to? That stadium is completely silent. Shhhhhhhh.
