I've always said that if I were a Bama fan I'd tell you all to kiss my ass and count the crystal about 3 times a day. I'd love to have some Dawg hate for win 3 NCs like that. Hell I get the Dawg hate now and all I have are pre-season NCs.
Exactly!!

Again, you're not going to see the ACC get that kind of "love" because their fans aren't running around claiming to be the top conference and calling other conferences weak.
Simple observation - when the PAC12 went from 10 to 12 teams, did they say, "we are going to stay at 9 games because we have balls the other conferences don't have," or did it just make sense to stay at 9 because you were already there? Just asking.
Yes, I saw what you said about the Pac in terms of their FCS history. Until just a few years ago you were only given 1/2 game credit for wins vs FCS in terms of conference standings. It pretty much kept anyone from doing it. Pretty much only happened when teams canceled games and there was no one else to fill. I'd love to see the return to that.
They just need to make them not count for being bowl eligible. The problem is they want more and more bowls, so having FCS makes it possible mathematically to have more bowl eligible teams.
Honestly leaving them only count for 1/2 win in conference tie breakers is enough. Let the bottom dwellers in your conference that doesn't care anyway have that option and don't make it hurt big teams that end up having to do one because a team backs out of a game. I mean it would still impact ties, but not bowls.
Can you believe they are going to have 4o next year ... 80 fricking teams. This is like the old NHL!They just need to make them not count for being bowl eligible. The problem is they want more and more bowls, so having FCS makes it possible mathematically to have more bowl eligible teams.

I like bowl games, too, but you are going to have 5-7 teams get in, possibly. Just way too many IMHO.I'm fine with the bowl games mostly I suppose.
More games is great and I like that part. But I am torn a bit because going to bowl games meant quite a bit more back in the day.
We just need to drop everyone back to 6 conference games and increase the FCS games and everyone will end up going to a bowl. The equivalent of a participation trophy for all. Modern football at its finest.
You think it's only fans?
Everyone knows it. At best you can say the gap isn't all that large, and you can even say last year the gap closed a lot because the SEC was down.
But thanks for finally admitting all this shit has very little to do with the crap people make it out to be, and way more to do with a bunch of butthurt people just looking for anything to throw at those who have experienced success.

And along comes 4d20 to prove my point. Funny thing is, 4d20 is by far the most butthurt member of college footballs most butthurt fanbase and he's calling others butthurt. The irony is just too much fun!!
Q: Can you see yourself going back and taking what you've learned here and applying it?
No time soon. Hopefully, years and years and years from now, people will look back at this era of Stanford football and see it as truly special. And I don't want this era to end. I want it to continue. I definitely want to be part of it.
To do what we've done and with the academic parameters we have, the types of kids we have -- six or seven years ago, people said this couldn't be done at a place like Stanford. To see us be able to do this year after year, play great football with a 100 percent graduation rate, have guys move on to be able to do phenomenal things in and out of football, I think it's truly special.
With 40+ bowl games aren't we already there? They need to start cutting bowl games, no adding more.
