Pretty sure everyone knows it means more conference losses.

It's the effects of such a thing and what you are claiming beyond that which is all messed up, and as I said before - non sequitur.

I made no such claims and have said that before too. You all love to put words in others mouths.

You keep saying you made no such claims, and that you aren't trying to rewrite history. What is the purpose of you pointing out that had the SEC played an additional conference game there would have been 7 more losses? If it is to simply point that out, we agree. If it is to say there would have been fewer NCs, fewer BCS bowls, etc., then I would say you are trying to rewrite history, and that no one knows that would have happened. That's one of the points I've tried to make. Clear it up by telling us your purpose in telling everyone the obvious.

Not a good week for the Ducks so far.

Oregon LB Rahim Cassell was arrested for a DUI over the weekend.

you would think that the PAC would be trying to emulate the SEC seeing that they were only in the NC game 3 times. Hell, the Big East did that. Even the ACC kicked them in the balls.

Quit crying and get better.

If the PAC would try to emulate the SEC they would have to schedule worse not better.
Starting this season USC will be replacing Boston College -Fresno State- Notre Dame with Azuza Pacific- Clairmont University- Glendale College. They will inform these schools that they will never get a return game and to make sure they leave the second to the last game available every year so USC can get the starters two quarters of work before the second and third string mop up. This will be a great way to have the boys rested and ready for the final conference game and bowls. No need to have a game that you could possibly loose so close to the end of the season. I can't wait for next year when USC plays North Texas( who says we only play local cupcakes???), Cal State Chico and Humbolt University.

So what? Schedule better, lose more games, and never get a team into the NC game not named USC.
This entire thread has nothing to do with scheduling better and has everything to do with getting into NC games.
You can schedule better all you want, but if you lose those games, then what did it matter.
PAC coaches just need to keep their mouths shut. It does nothing but make them look like little bitches.
The SEC perfected the template and we will see if it's effective in the 4 team playoff system.
By the way, the Big12 did the same as the SEC and got into the NC game 7 times.

See the post below yours. It was this kind of post that started the replies. If the Pac copies the formula we end up with less quality of games to see in exchange for an easier path to the playoffs. Everyone in football loses.

I did say that adding another IC for the SEC would lead to less bowls for the whole conference and a tougher road for the higher teams in making the playoffs. This is obvious, but not everyone agrees with you. Shall I post quotes from other posters refuting what you claim is obvious and doesn't warrant posting? This is why it has gone on for pages.

As for the stuff about what might not have been had there been 9 IC's in the past, that was brought up by someone else. All I added was a reply to a question about how it would be possible. If you ask questions and get a reply that doesn't constitute someone coming up here to engage in revisionist history. It just doesn't.

So when someone who pays for season tickets says I don't want to see them drop playing another conference rival for an additional home game against fuckstain state they are crying. :L

If the SEC can make the playoffs with 8 IC's then the other conferences will likely follow suit. Why make the road to a championship harder than you need to. We, as season ticket holders or just fans who love to see quality games all lose in the end. ALL OF US.

Come on. 7 more losses is likely to effect bowls. Would it have effect a BCS or NC? Pretty hard to know the answer to that, but it is obviously would have negative potential. I am not sure the time frame, but over 7-10 years it is quite likely that it would have an effect on a BCS or NC participant. The question is if it 1 out of the 14-20 teams or if it is 5 or more.

The Pac-12 is in discussions about holding its football conference title game annually at the new Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

Commissioner Larry Scott confirmed to SI.com in a text message on Tuesday that the league is "discussing" moving away from its current format of having one of the participants host the game, as Arizona State did last December. If a change were made, it would go into effect this season, meaning the 2014 championship game scheduled for Dec. 5 would take place in the Bay Area.

Levi's Stadium is the new home of the San Francisco 49ers and would provide the Pac-12 with an ideal modern venue to give the game the feel of a big-time championship event.

Multiple sources indicated to SI.com that a permanent site for the Pac-12 championship has been a part of the discussions at the league's annual meetings taking place this week at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix. Other venues have been discussed over the years, but Levi's Stadium is considered the heavy favorite.

The conference presidents and chancellors would ultimately approve whether to move the game away from on-campus sites. They hold their annual meetings in June.

Maybe it should be held in SEC country? At least that conference would have a chance to see 2 excellent teams play each other on the road...

I have 10 SEC teams in the preseason top25 SoS rankings.

I have 1 Pac12 team in the preseason top25. Cal at #25.

USC is close, and among the better Pac12, @ #28, followed by UCLA @ #30 and then Stanford @ #33.

You guys should stick to narrowing the schedule down to 3 and 4 games to harp on, rather than overall schedule.

Using last years SOS numbers from Colley Matrix:
SEC average SOS was 18.43
PAC was 17.33

that is not much to argue about.

Last year I had the Pac12 much higher/closer as well. Stanford was all the way up to #6 overall for example.

This year, different story.

So, Oregon likely having 3 preseason top 10 teams (MSU, Stanford, UCLA) and 5 (UW, USC) top 25 teams is good enough for at least 4th in the PAC and 34th Nationally?

:noidea:

I only see 3 top25 teams. But they may improve. Especially curious about UW and USC, but I obviously can't count them as top25 just yet.

Stanford seemed to lose a bit last year. Hope they bounce back stronger this year.
