USC is not going to win the south. They won't come in second either. Really not a chance in hell that happens. Brand new coachs, brand new offense, no experienced top QB, serious lack of depth.

It will be UCLA or Zona with an outside chance ASU can put it all together this year.

Might be the clearest the south has looked before a season since we went to this format.

The South will likely be a close shootout this year with almost all teams in it. The ASU offense that put up 35 on UCLA at home last year will be better while the defense won't be as tough, but they'll be good enough on both sides of the ball. Graham's been better every year, this year the best so far. If USC don't edge us out, they will be second. So line up for your CCG tickets in Tempe again this year. Ricky is biased. If it comes down to a QB, that QB will be Mariotta. Look forward to seeing him in Tempe.

I'm laying off the booze for a while (i.e. a week or two), got really fucked up last Thursday and did something massively retarded.
:wtf2:

Ohhh, you aint getting off that easy SHF, please explain the "tard" experience to all please. IF not all, at least a small window into your drinking and it's outcome(s).

USC won 10 games last year and finished ranked inside the top 20 even with the coaching carousel and the depth issues created by the sanctions. SC played UCLA tough, played Notre Dame tough and beat Stanford so I don;t think its that far off that they could win the south. The offense is something familiar to Kessler so that takes two of your reasons off the table. Depth is an issue if injuries hit certain units (o line - cb) for sure but thats an issue because of expectations. It's hard to make a run for a BCS game if you lose your #1 and #2 at a couple important positions if your #3 isn't there or is a walk on. If you're team is just middle of the raod then you can just plug in another kid and still remain average. A team like Oregon and UCLA and Stanford dont have that issue but if USC gets a little luckier with the injury bug than they've been then their 22 are every much as talented as those teams 22.

Didn't say specifically what it was because it may have come off like bragging, although it was pretty fuckin' stupid.

I went over to this girl's place with her and her friend and got pretty wasted (for some I reason got drunk on a lot less than I normally do, didn't intend on getting as trashed as I did). Her and I had sex in her bed with her friend laying in the bed next to us. I legit passed out during parts of it, somehow managed to keep it up the entire time though. The stupid part was that I didn't use a rubber and I get paranoid as fuck about not using one. I don't even remember if I came, and if I did it was in her which freaks me out.

Other than that I'm a pretty happy and fun drunk though.

The point about your depth is your sharp drop off in talent due to sanctions and the limited numbers of high profile kids USC has vs what they normally have without those sanctions.

As for the other two, I'll leave them on the table. Thank you very much. We watched Sark closely for 5 years. You won't be winning the conf in year one of his tenure. Just not going to happen. Book it.

Like I said, depth is an issue if SC gets hit hard in a few thin areas. Kind like having no spare tire on a road trip. it could bite you or you might be fine. You make it sound more like it's more like filling a 20 gallon tank for a 400 mile drive . That's wishful thinking I've read Sark is having a few players practice multiple positions just in case. Not saying depth wont be hovering but it's [possible it can be managed.
As for your "book it" prediction.Being a husky fan I have a pretty good feeling you've been sure or positive about a few things in the past that just didn't work out.

Sark sucks.

That was a horrible hire

No, it's worse than that. If he sucked he'd just end up like Kiffin and go back to being an OC somewhere. Sark is in that just good enough to take the chance, but not good enough to reach elite status. Even if it doesn't work out for him at USC he will still land a decent job somewhere.

He's a good coach, just not a great one.

I'll be hoping UDud takes him back longing for those 8 win seasons. :laugh3:

Agreed. I think he will have success at USC, but not Carroll level success. This is obviously looking far into the future, but I don't see Sark getting fired from USC. I think he will do well enough to keep his job for as long as he intends on being there.

It's not that I'm that negative on USC vs that high on the other teams in the south. UCLA is dangerous and has a top flight QB at the helm. Arizona has some of the best receivers in the conference and maybe the second highest speed offense. ASU really took a big step last year and stopped that second half of the season melt down they have been known for.

USC has some of the best talent in the conference. No one denies that. They also are quite thin and injuries happen to every team in this conference. Add the 7 sark factor and I just like UCLA and the other two more.

A few years from now when the sanction impact is gone and Sark has had time to build something, maybe USC is the dominating force they once were. Who knows. Just not coming in year one.

And I say the same thing for UW. Petersen might be one of the top coaches in the conference, but it's year one and they have questions a QB and will be playing a very young secondary. They should be dangerous, but not likely to take another step up this year.

You can call it what you want, but I do keep it real.

UDud will be awfully young..... Lol

In the secondary yes, also at QB. Everywhere else not so much. Every team gets young kids moving into bigger roles every year. UW is no different.

It won't be enough to make them go backwards. They have a fairly easy schedule. Anything short of 8 regular season wins would be a total disaster. Most expect 9 or 10, but then they are playing 13 regular season games this year.
