Oregon is widely known across the country as Washington's retarded little brother.

Until they actually go to both states. Or especially Spokane. Like I said lived in 5 states and the residents of other states consider them the same wth the exception of the ones that have been there. Pretty much to a tee - when I ask the people round here that have traveled to the NW, which state did they like better -- it is an overwhelming response of Oregon. My wife hates it cause she is from WA. No they are not all windsurfers either.

A lot of websites that allow posting block that word simply because they don't want the constant waste of website hardware resources and bandwidth on searches involving that word pointing to their sites. You can always use the old school internet slang "pron" for that. Always gets the job done in a pinch.

I like Seattle quite a bit better than Portland honestly. Seattle is one of if not my fav city I have visited in this country.

I am a fisherman who prefers launching a dory boat off the surf. I love the coast life. So obviously Oregon is for me.

It is all what you want. In a whole, they aren't that much different.

Portland is generally better weather than Seattle, but Seattle is still quite a bit better city overall though.

The outdoors Oregon has huge advantages.

I love fishing the sound, it's been a long time since I fished in the Pacific. I can still catch the monster salmon in the sounds or the rivers.

Seattle is unique, and it has places where its down right cool for anything , same for Portland, personally for me when I hit big cities I'm looking for those pubs, that have great beer and good food.

Beaches, hands down Oregon, family and I hit Seaside every summer, ( I know more touristy place) but we have a place over looks the beach, the boardwalk, ( love sitting there watching scenery walk by with a beer in my hand) plus the kids have so much to do there past out by 9pm every night when were there...

As for camping, hunting, fishing, its what you make of it so to me its a draw. I have over 15 different lakes in a 20 mile distance from my house, I want bass, I hit a bass lake, I want to slay trout, or just bank fish with a bucket under my arse chuck full of crappie I can do that as well...


As much as I loved my little adventure down to Hawaii there was things that I do miss about the Northwest, that sometimes we forget about, granted I'm cold this morning so Hawaii is on my mind, but I wouldn't give up this style of living for anything in the world right now...

Millions of dollars being proposed for more of those pretty green bike lanes in downtown, now the catch, according to the city stats department 4% of downtown folks commute by bike!

I guess 20 more years of pot holes in the city for those 4% riding there bikes to work!
