You can't fault him for that, but you fault Alabama for the exact same things?

Wait!! What?!? How does a kid deciding to transfer because he's not going to see much playing time, equate to oversigning and "greyshirting"?

Now. Now. At most other schools, 2-3 transfers or medical hardships a year is typical of natural attrition. Just because at Bama the number is usually 8-10, there is no funny stuff going on or extreme abuse of loopholes.

Bama football is like one big family. A family where every year, you're told behind the scenes that you better be a starter or high on the depth chart, or 8-10 of you will have to fake a injury/transfer to free up enough scholarships for new members of the family because they oversign each class. Sort of like they do in the NFL in preseason. You know that pro-league. Where it's a race to 53 by start of the season. Well at Bama, it's always the race to 85 in the summertime.

One big happy family.

Because that is what the overwhelming majority of players do. And as I pointed out, it happens more often at Alabama because of the amount of talent coming in, and that it's the same thing at all schools - the more talent coming into the school, the more it happens.

In 2011, 12 players left from NSD until the day when 85 was the number, according to oversigning.com, a site that spins things as much as it can, 7 of those players transfered to other schools. Of the remaining 5, 3 took medical scholarships, 1 died and 1 switched to baseball.

You have behind the scenes information now? :bullshit:

Saban is upfront with every recruit about these things, and that is well known. They are told they have to compete for playing time, and that they can start as soon as they can win the job. To sit here and say behind the scenes this happens or that happens only goes to prove you are full of shit and just want something to bitch about.

Mcnabb, forgive me if I have asked this before but...

How does one become a UW, Mariners and Eagles fan?

We moved to the great Northwest when I was a kid, the Eagles thing was already in bedded in my brain, and when we moved here I loved going to M's games, ( I'm talking the dark days in the Kingdome) and UW I end up going to school there later......

I actually don't see anything wrong with this, I mean Saban is telling them how it works, and its there choice to go there or not. I mean one positive is there are kids focusing on graduation just in case they don't get "PT" they can transfer right out and play for someone else.

Plus I can see that it does look like a "professional roster" turnover since the talent Bama gets year in and year out for classes is well fucking outstanding, plus you factor in medical issues, kids just not giving a damn, wait better phrase, "not panning out" there is gonna look like a revolving door at times, specially with a rash of serious medical issues or kids just quitting on football in general, ( it does happen)

These are 18-19 yr olds looking to use the school as a springboard into the NFL, for the school to have a certain way of protecting themselves from a team of "Clowney's" I don't see any problem with it, again the kid is choosing that school....

That's my two cents on it....

Ya it's tough to drop your favorite NFL team for another. I know all about that. I have threatened to drop the Raiders not because they have a difficult time winning. Just what the organization has stood for and how it is run made me consider.

But of course there is no way I could ever switch. Not as tied to Baseball so I would drop the A's if Portland were to get a baseball team.

Ideally the A's move to Portland some day. But I am not getting my hopes up for any MLB in Oregon.

My old man was die hard Lions fan up until the day he died, of course growing up I was force feed the whole Lions thing, when I was 9 yrs old I manned up and told him, I'm not a Lions fan, Im a Philly fan! Now looking back I believe I made the right choice, cause my Eagles have been a lot better then the Lions....

So of course I force feed Eagles to my sons, last couple years I've noticed my older son watching the Hawks more and more, I didn't say anything I wanted to see him come clean. Well he had a birthday late fall and some of his teammates hooked him with some Hawks gear, I kinda played on it a little, then right before the playoffs started were all sitting there having a nice family dinner, my oldest looks me and say's " pop I'm not a Philly fan anymore, I like the Hawks!" Now as a father your just proud the kid is stepping out on his own, finding what he likes in life, I was actually smiling and very proud of him, but what I wasn't hearing was my youngest son ripping his big brother for being a traitor and just kept lighting him up like it was the 4th of July......

So this Sunday I get to watch my oldest go through all the emotions that being a die hard is all about, plus I get to listen to his little brother trash talk the piss out of the kid the whole game....

My boys.... 16 Raider, 13 Raider, 10 Eagles....

The baby (almost 2) who knows. Not steering him towards the Raiders. No need to make them suffer.

All HUGE Duck fans though.

The 1st 2 boys are from previous marriage and their mom is also a Raider so that is something.

10 year old and the baby's mom couldn't care less about the NFL.

I truly fear this. My 2.5 and 5 y/o both root for Stanford and demand to wear their Stanford gear when daddy is watching a game. My daughter (5) even asks to watch the WBB and Women's Soccer games from time to time. But working at the U of A, and living in Tucson, I know she may eventually become a Cats fan (frick!!!!). Then again I was raised a Stanford homer in Husky territory and came out a Cardinal fan still. My dad damn near had a coronary when I applied to USC for undergrad, and again when I applied to UW for graduate school.

I don't believe in karma or that other vu doo stuff but with kids, all bets are off and sometimes we gotta just grin and bear it for the simple fact at some stage we screwed with our folks just like our kids screw with us now.....

Quarterback Max Wittek will transfer from USC - latimes.com

USC quarterback Max Wittek will forgo participating in spring practice, graduate at the end of the semester and transfer to another school to play his final two seasons of eligibility, he said Wednesday.
Wittek, a fourth-year junior, will be able to play at another school immediately under NCAA rules that allow players who have graduated to transfer without penalty.

Be interesting on where this kid goes...Outside the Pac or does he have a chip on his shoulder and a need to stay?

Not buying it. USC never did this. In fact, USC usually uses fewer than our full allotment so as to have a couple of schollies for deserving walk-on's. Last I checked, USC always has lots of talent.

In fact, the closest that I can recall to this happening at USC, was the early enrollee who was asked to delay his entry until fall, so his early entry spot could be used for a kid coming from out of state. The only reason that even happened was because of the sanctions.

My daughter (25) is a daddy's girl all the way never strayed from any of her old man's teams.

She roots for the Rams, Bruins and Lakers as much as I do however only will watch the Dodgers and Kings live.

My son on the other hand (23) fell in love with the Broncos when Elway was winning Superbowls and follows Penn State a bit just because of some Play Station CFB video game.

He still follows Dodgers and Bruins though. Oh and need I mention, he's all jacked up about Sunday as you all can imagine. :yahoo:

I hope y'all enjoy the Super Bowl this Sunday and if the Broncos can't beat the Seahawks, I hope the refs do!

Go Broncos! :suds:

Didn't you just sign 29 recruits in 2011 and it was supposed to be 30?
