Coach Pete will either improve on the building blocks that Sark has left, or he will have a short tenure here and we will move on. But just as a potential and measuring against what else was available, this was a really good pick up for Scott Woodward and UW.

I don't think there will be ANY QUESTION with what Coach Pete does @ the UWUB, the ONLY Q is how patient these foaming at the mouth Dawg Pound people give him.

3 years...10 wins/season and I would be estactic!

You make a good point but if want UW to be atop the conference they need more than just low star guys hoping Coach Pete can coach them all up. I'm sure a UW fan would rather have a team stocked with players who could get a cup of coffee with any professional league over having a couple of NFL players. I don't think there is a question he can coach but I think it is fair to say its a wait and see with his recruiting of enough pieces to maintain success.

Many people tend to forget that Petersen was an assistant for Bellotti at Oregon from 1995-2000. He's well experienced with the PAC recruiting grind and knows how to do it. Yes, he'll have to shoot for 4 and 5 star kids for his classes and have to grow his recruiting network, but it's not like he's green to the PAC and recruiting in it.

First recruiting classes are always tough for new coaches and he'll have a lot of work to do with this one as Sark only left him 7 commits and some of them might decide to go elsewhere. Most coaches are always judged on their year 2 class when they've had an entire recruiting cycle to build a class, instead of 4 to 8 weeks. Since Petersen is considered one of the top evaluators in the college football game, I have faith he'll rock in the longterm and will consistently pull in top 25 classes once he gets cooking.
