Finishing 10-3 is similar to what Helton did but not all 10-3s are the same.

USC was lucky to get to the RB and was only in the bowl game because Washington was in the College Playoffs. Really thought Colorado got screwed on that one. I've seen them pick Conference Champions on rankings but lets face it, if both SC and Colorado are gonna be close, those in the Committee see it good for the College game that USC is in the RB rather than the Buffs, thems just the facts.

It was that game, and what a game that really bumped up the 10-3 Trojans, like I said, Kirby wanted the Trojans in the Playoffs last year even at 10-3 so you are right, USC will win a 10-3 beauty contest everytime, like it or not but you can't deny that the way that SC's "travels" has a lot to do with their regular season ranking and then build upon that.

Lotta things fell in place for USC to get the Rose Bowl bid but with USC looking good beating Washington , having an eight game winning streak and Colorado not looking good in the CCG they took a chance on the higher ranked team and were rewarded . USC beat a Penn State team who won the Bg10 and was ranked #5 and Colorado lost 8-38 to #13 Oklahoma State.

Middle of what water? Those are two different lakes. The first pic is Big Lake .... the size of some counties. The bottom pic is the lake I live on which is right around 100 acres in size.

I'm not a neuheisel hater and never was, like some here in these parts are. But see post above...

I got to meet him a couple times while he was here, seemed like a genuinely decent guy.

Same here. We were a major UW athletic sponsor and I got to rep our company at all of the events during his tenure and had a few conversations with him. Still have a signed game ball with Tui's class and RN on it. Thought he was a pretty stand up guy. Still didn't like the basketball thing, but he brought us a RB title and had the program going in a much better direction than it did all the way up to Petersen coming to town.

There is always the debate on the deserving team over the better team. Who knows, the Buff players could have been let down after getting the shit end of the stick, I mean they were the No. 2 team in the Conference so they were more deserving, USC was obviously better.

BTW - That was Kirby's argument, he thought USC was one of the four best teams in the nation and thought they should be in the College Playoffs last year.
