I think it's funny Sark even called on him.

It's something a kid would do.

'I'm gonna tell my daddy! He'll fix you!' :pound:

No offense Trojans, but yeah....

That bad? Didn't see any of the SC/Furd game myself. Neither impressed huh?

Stanford not looking as dominate?

Not unless you consider 7 or 8 times in the red zone with a total of 10 (ten) points impressive or from the defensive side, allowing the visitors into the red zone 7 or 8 times. But then, I haven't seen much from the PAC top to bottom that is really impressive this season.

How about common sense, common courtesy. His appearance was intended to intimidate or otherwise
influence the Refs. The coach didn't have the gonads to do it himself. I think the PAC 12 can and should expect that even from USC at USC.

Why are you changing the discussion? Your statement was that USC should hear more than "don't do that anymore" and I pointed out that it's doubtful and why. Now it's about common sense and common courtesy?

Both have already apologized. Haden says he shouldn't have come down to the sidelines and Sark said he shouldn't have asked for Haden to come to the sidelines. It happened. Not much more that can be done except making sure it doesn't happen again. Haden usually walks down to the sidelines during the last few minutes of every USC game. Now he says he's not going to do that for at least the next couple of games.

As for the coach "not having the gonads to do it himself", he already had and it earned him an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. He figured he would have Haden come down and continue the discussion because he felt that he would only earn himself another unsportsmanlike penalty. Didn't work out like he had hoped, don't see him doing it again.

Pat just took a little hit to the wallet for it as well. 25k.

I don't think it's a big deal. Inappropriate and funny, nothing more.

Good. Getting fined seems fair and $25k pretty much amounts to a slap on the wrist, don't do it again type fine.

Still think they should kick him and all current ADs off this stupid committee.

It's clear they can't remove their emotions from decisions.

Yeah they recuse themselves from the discussions but they still vote and those votes are secret.

Well, wasn't aware of all that, but what you're saying about my reply to your post is that I was right and you were wrong. There indeed was a lot more expected than "don't do it again", indeed there was, and it looks like we haven't heard the end of it yet as much as you would like too. The problem for you is taking up a defense for an indefensible act even though "there were no rules against it" On Haden's part it was a lack of common courtesy and respect. USC is well known for that even if you deny it. I will take time now to read Haden's apology.

I think one of 2 things should happen and maybe both should.

They should remove active AD's from the committee. Not because of Haden and Alvarez, yelling at the refs has nothing to do with their position on the committee, but because active AD's shouldn't have been there in the first place. Also, they should make the votes transparent.

Really? Outside of the fine, what else will be done? Not going to the sidelines for at least the next couple of games is something Haden chose to do, not something the PAC or NCAA imposed on him. So, nothing that I said was wrong.

Also, as I pointed out, Barry Alvarez was seen yelling at the refs in a far more animated manner than Haden. Where's your outrage over that? Or do you just extend it to PAC AD's?

Face it, you're trying to make this something more than it is. Too bad it's not really working out for you.

I think the bolded says all we need to know about why you are trying to make this such a big deal.

Additionally, I didn't defend anything, I just said it's not as big a deal as you want it to be.

Has the NCAA chimed in yet? Just curious.

I don't think it will be anything stiffer than the pac already doled out though. If anything at all.

PAC was much harder on UW then the NCAA ever was if I remember correctly.

Not that I've heard. In something like this, they typically leave it up to the school and/or conference. What will be interesting though, will be if the NCAA makes new rules or some sort of announcement re: sideline behavior.

Penn st is now bowl eligible.

It's now a possibility that depending where they end ranked in the Big10, they could be a potential matchup vs the PAC in either the Holiday or SF bowl.
